I know this is a very old thread but I just discovered my 85 has the same problem. I just found both fans lying on their side. If anyone has a template out there it would be very appreciated. On another note, the whole reason I started looking around is that I am not getting any heat out of either heater core. The hoses barely get warm. Is it possible there is an air lock or plugged up hose. Any advice appreciated.

In a different 308 fan blower thread ( 308QV Heater Blower(s) | FerrariChat ) I posted about my fix. I hadn't actually seen this thread, but came up with a similar mounting bracket with multiple mounting points onto the fan housing:

In that thread, Brian/Rifledriver indicated it's a very common problem. Previously in this thread (post #20 in 2009), Newman suggested that a fix like this was a hack fix that would lower the value of a 308... My compromise suggestion would be that if concours original condition is a requirement before eventually selling a 308, then buy new pristine heater blower fans and keep them in the box to be fitted just before putting the car up for sale. Meanwhile, do the reinforced fix I and others have done and enjoy a worry free no breakage fan mount experience ;)

    Regards,
    Gordon

Thanks for the pictures. I can probably make something similar that will work I'm not interested in keeping the car in concours condition so this is a great fix. Replacing the fans is over $300 each. Anyhow thank you
