    How is it done, I remove the two screws that tighten it to the shaft, and I was expecting that it would slide to one side or another and pop out but so far no success?

    The rod would need to be shifted to the middle of the car but there is a clamp holding it in place. Not saying with a little effort that you can't get it to move over enough to slide the visor off but that could be tricky. If possible, it's easier than pulling both door jambs, latch strikers, step plates and quarter glasses then the headliner.

    Is there any chance to break something when trying to slide over that rod? I'm trying to not do anything past the point of no return which later requires to take the car apart to fix it.

    If the retainer clip came off, the rod will now be loose in the headliner, the sun visor will flop back and forth rather than stay where you put it when in use. Stowed with the snap it'll be fine.
