I have had the car for over 2 years and always used my Key Fob to lock and alarm the car. Yesterday, I was with a friend and he said what is this button next to the door handle ... he pushed it and the doors locked and mirrors folded in... WHAT..., wtf.... all this time, I have been using my Key Fob to lock/alarm the car.... Also both sides of the car has the ability to set the lock/alarm without USING the key fob. Touch the button NEXT to the door handle and you have to have your key fob within you pocket....

So, how many of you knew this ??? vs how many have NOT ???
    ... just curious

It was the first thing I was shown when I took delivery of my 296 and both SF90 cars.

You'll need to educate your sales advisor and/or delivery specialist as they call them.

There is a setting that let's you walk away from the car and it locks itself.

Does anyone know how to turn that feature off. My ad and the tech there couldn’t figure it out w me. Yes, we found the option in the menu but have it check or unchecked doesn’t matter. It still locks ever time I walk away. Am I one off or are others able to walk away w it remaining unlocked (296). Thx!

When I first unchecked the box, the car would still alarm when I walked away, BUT now I have to either use the key fob OR press the BUTTON, (love the button - LOL). So try it again ... check, turn off the car, let it reset. then later UNcheck the box and see if this works. i like it UNchecked so I can open the doors anytime in my garage. Was such a pain in the a$$ to alway shave to use the key to unlock the doors in my garage.

You are not alone. I was told, there is a procedure for turning Walk-Away-Lock (WAL) off (press LOCK on the fob twice within 500ms should turn on/off the WAL-function). But this doesn't work on my car (296).

The WAL is the most annoying part of the 296 for me. Can’t ever get it to be consistent.

Second most is the inability (that I can find) to turn the reverse beep down. The beep is probably the dumbest thing Ferrari has put on these cars, IMO.

One more to add…favorites filter on the radio. Why in the world do we have select this option every time we get in the car?! Ferrari, if you are here, please…please….please do a software update that leaves the selection on until we decide to change it and not reset when. The car is turned off

RobertM I will try that and that’s my exact issue. Going into my garage without the key and doors are locked. Beyond frustrating

I had that setting in my 296 but it’s no longer working, the dealer told me it was disabled for safety, in the event of you not wanting to automatically have the car unlock itself when you approach it but I really liked that feature now they dialled it out :(
