    Hi!
Dose anybody ever removed oil pressure relief valve from crankcase in Ferrari 550? It’s under small cap on timing gears cover. I’ve marked it on photo.

The parts diagrams do not suggest there is anything behind this plug which seems to be just an access to one of the oil veins.

The only pressure relief "valves" I can see are the two springs #18 & #37 in the oil pumps. Didn't you check these when you had the pumps apart?

I was suprised too. In crankcase diagram can see this and in plug hole I feel spring.
Yea, I’ve checked both valves on oil pump and it looked fine.
According to book oil pressure readings are too high (with aux gauge) and I’m searching for reasons.

Interesting. I was looking at the parts diagram of the 456M when posting earlier and comparing it with the other variants of that F133 engine used in the 456/550/575M/612 shows that the 456M is the only one that doesn't use this OPRV...

What is the oil pressure shown on your mechanical gauge and is it different from the pressure shown on the dash with the original pressure sender in place? Do you plug your mechanical gauge in place of the oil pressure sender?

Pressure on the gauge in cluster is similar to the numbers from mechanical gauge.
Mechanical gauge is mounted in place of electric sender. The numbers are:

    Cold: 6,5 bar
    Cold Rev: 8,5 bar
    Hot: ~ 3,5 bar
    Hot rev: 7,5 bar

I’ve finally was able to get out this relief valve. I had problems with this cause there’s a oil gallery aluminium plug on the side of the block and it was driven too deep and blocked valve.
What I was found it’s that this relief valve isn’t in perfect condition and it has too much clearance on the front where the oil pressure comes in.
Unfortunately the part is out of stock in every place that I was asking so I must commission a machine shop to do it.
