What are the top three 'bargain' Ferrari models right now?

Would have to say:

360
430 (high milers)
Cali-T
355 Spider (high miles with needs)
I think some 575 and 599s could go for this money (I don't keep up with their pricing)

I don't think any of these are fast movers, but a couple of them should rise enough to cover normal operating costs. Good value for middle class aspirations....

I am on my 4 th and everyone that’s been sold has appreciated to easily cover running costs . So to me they are free motoring .
Testarossa LHD imported into the U.K. from Switzerland. Bought for ( the then CHF / £ fx ) £24 K . Back In mid 90 s . Sold for £40 K 2008 .
360 m F1 bought for £38 K 2008 , added 20 K miles full Ferrari franchise services annually, sold 2017 for £54 K .

Currently bought a 208 GT4 £32 k ……Indy serviced for belts and annual DIY Ed , had it since 2018 worth £40 -£50 K isn’t for sale .

Currently purchased last November a 348 SP in Giallio, one of 4 U.K. RHD cars left out of 67 imported into the U.K. , out of 1050 manufactured WW ) paid £54 K on 26 K miles . Was stored for a decade , recommissioned by a Ferrari Indy .

With the 348 spider as said it’s a numbers game they made more F40 s ! .
I believe only 17 on the U.K. registration in use , as said 4 yellow . So rarity is a factor to bring in of the “next best thing “.
Eg in the U.K. today there are 1300 488 s running about ….compare that to 17 348 SP s out of the 254 348 s still registered in the U.K. .

The GT4 is currently seeing a renaissance and so to the 348 by Ferrari guys . Not talking tinternet wanna be s regurgitating what thet have googled .
That’s the issue there’s a lot of chaff flying about , but basically it’s a numbers game .

360/430 …they made soooooo many the mkts oversupplied. As will be the 488 .
So for real investment potential look back to the Enzo era ….that ended at 288 , F40 and 348 .These three lack the troublesome electrotwackery and F 1 gearboxes ,so are a better prospects in terms of maintaining them without busting the bank on one fix .

 

I think the 612 is the best bargain there is in Ferraris.
Especially the OTOs.
Only about 100 in the US. V112, great brakes. Lots of practical space. Beauty is personal but I think they a re beautiful

There is such a stigma that the 308 is such a mass-produced car. The reality is that only 1,500 were built per year although over a 10-year run. This is tiny by modern Ferrari standards. There are a lot more modern Ferraris than 308s at any Cars and Coffee.

Here is an estimate of 308 and 328 production by year:

Until the last run up to $100k, they were tremendously undervalued so, more than other model of Ferraris, 308s were parted out or crushed. Adding to this, the Selleck and Brinkley stigmas are ancient history. Considering there were at least 4 incarnations of the 308 (Vetroresina, Carb, 2-valve FI, 4-valve FI) which divide the 308 into subgroups, there might be room for more appreciation.

308's are crazy money right now.
A Cali T is much more reasonable, IMHO.
360's have really come down.... even the 6 speed gated cars.

 

The 360 is the best bargain of all right now.

 

Would still pony up for a 430 though....

612 scaglietti is quite a bargain, it's reasonably practical has a front mid v12 around 540hp and could be had with manual and there are some great specs out there.

 

360 F1 is an absolute value.

With 348 prices being near a 360 F1, the 360 is world above it in performance as well as being more affordable to maintain.

I also feel that a 575M is a massive value. I am targeting one of those as my next Ferrari. I just hope the prices stay stable until then!

 

Think about the electrotwackery ECU s , the F1 gremlins going Fwds with the 360 F1 .
348 is base analog in comparison.
With cars entering classic collectable status it’s not the performance that sells it’s the perceived or real maintenance.
Aged 360s are money pits . Any pre 95 OB2 hasn’t even got a EML .

Think Dino 246 , I could run faster to 60 in terms of performance…..they not the value they are bcz of performance.

360 s have expensive chocolate tea pot suspension components ….money pits .
I am talking from owner ship experience of both modals btw …..just passing on info not opinions.
Let’s not completely forget the numbers produced either , they really did mass produce the 360 .
As said they manufactured fewer 348 SP s than F40 s back in the day .

The threads not about which ones you like appearance wise or performance wise it’s about investment potential. I have never lost money in my 4 Ferrari car ownership experience over the past 30 yrs . Not about to loose that Midas touch .

 

FWIW, I just traded my 2019 Portofino in with 17k miles at F Palm Beach. My car was perfect in every way and probably be had in the 170-175 range.

 

I think manual 360s and 2 pedal 430s (if you like automatics) are bargains. I bought a manual 430 new in 2005 and still have it. Can't call these a bargain anymore but I think they are good value given the rarity and driving experience.

Respectfully disagree. In my opinion it's aesthetics and the experience.

If you're infatuated with the aesthetics -then drive it and feel the lack of mass, unique aroma(s), pure sound, tactile interface whether it's brake, shift, clutch it becomes a highly enjoyable experience to drive and still highly enjoyable if static art.

So, to your point, if someone is spending half a million plus on a Dino that isn't fast, their motive is passion. If you're truly passionate the thought of maintenance cost isn't a thought you have at all.

 

What in the world are you talking about? A 360 is a money pit? What is a “ chocolate tea cup suspension “ even mean? Are you from planet earth? Mass produced? Considering the world population it really doesn’t matter. Mine has been solid. Going on 4 years of ownership… It’s still considered one of the most reliable and simplest Ferrari’s to work on to date. Today’s Ferrari’s are much more complex with electronics in particular and previous generations with engine accessibility being a pain due to needing engine removal makes the 360 the top dog due to its current market price. The F1 in the 360 is more reliable than a newer California Gen 1 or 458 transmission which is well known to be an area of caution, especially in 2010 year of the 458. Your experience might have been bad with the 360 but it’s on the rare side of the spectrum.

Yawn...Did they? I think more of these widow makers have been wrecked than "widow-maker Porches" so the numbers of available cars are always shrinking. It's a lot of car for a new to mid-engine driver!
