Bait. Those who endlessly talk up the market are obviously 'correct' when the market is going up. I follow the data and look at things on aggregate.

The market has indeed been going up recently for the F40. But consider that the two record Monterey 2022 F40 sales are $4,348,000 and $4,228,000 in today's dollars, and yet for some people the F40 market never stopped 'rising' the last 3 years...

Mecum Kissimmee 2026 should set new records, if the cars' conditions are commensurate with their mileage. Record-low mileage at auction for US-spec cars.

 so now we have to quote prices in present value dollars vs earlier this year value dollars or last year value dollars?
    why stop there?
let me help you make your arguemnt......in pounds sterling prices have probably remained stagnant for the last 4 years. therefore F40 prices have not gone up at all :)
    whatever.

dont get your panties in a twist though, i am just ribbing you, and others on this thread :)

frankly i think the whole discussion has become pointless since in isolation the present values of the cars mean little, and can be manipulated by whoever is trying to prove a point.
at the end, as the saying goes, its all relative....
the value of the f40, regardless of time or currency, can only be evaluated by comparing it with other cars that have some kind of similar currency - ie all the ferrari halo cars, or all super/hyper cars of the last 40 years etc.

As ever you get what you pay for.. if u want genuine 5k, total provenance, original then the auction route is not the right area to buy.. 90% of the cars that have issues find this the only area to sell a car to a un educated buyer.. that’s why prices and sales are generated privately.. Its not rocket science ..
