    And finally:

It seems Ferrari are opening a new London store, having closed the one in Regent Street some years ago. Presumably to offer the kind of expensive clothing that they keep sending me emails about but that only Lewis Hamilton would be seen dead in.

Somewhat strangely, the Lotus showroom opposite the Ritz hotel was displaying a type 88. Strange because the car was banned and never allowed to race, although the nice lady from Lotus told me that cars are displayed on rotation.

£2.2 million for the F40. Slightly under low estimate.

Why polish such car, when they were mostly painted by brush in the day? Pointless.

I love the Lotus 88. After getting the fancars banned Lotus had it coming just 2 years later :)

The interior of that white Esprit certainly speaks to its era!

Thanks for the pics, looks like a great time.

Thank you for the kind words.

Incidentally, both the auction preview and the car show were much busier than last year.

Great photos and report! Thanks very much for posting all!! Makes me miss the area... I used to (in the early 1970s) live a few blocks from where the hotel is.
