This will not change the fact that watching them roll will be totally boring because the sound will be at best that of a 296 challenge, very very far from the FXXK...

As with the previous XX cars, it would be an adaptation of the road car for the track and not a derivation from the 499P Modificata, which is a lightly-modified LMH car, as in, a real-deal race car. Just because the shape and size and some high-level on-paper characteristics (e.g. engine) look similar doesn't mean the cars will be "similar".

Given the nature of the XX Programme, an XX car has to be amateur-friendly, which the 499P isn't. To wit:

No ABS: You need proper braking technique.

Carbon-Carbon Brakes: You need to heat up the brakes and keep them above operating temperature otherwise they are quite ineffective.

Left-Foot Braking: The footwell tunnels make right-foot braking infeasbile.

Racing Prototype Cockpit: It's very cramped in there, and getting in and out takes some work.

Visibility: Because of the seating position and the size/shape of the windshield and the fenders, visibility is rather limited, which again means one has to have some experience and technique to be able to drive the car well.

Single Seater: Can't take your coach with you.

Downforce: The car has massive downforce, which requires it to be drive accordingly.

No Duplex Live Communications: Can't have the box talk to you or your coach tell you things in real time.

Running Costs: Significantly more than the XX cars.

Such things constitute a vast departure from the FXX, the 599XX, and the FXX-K, which are all fun to drive but far more approachable for the typical XX client.

That's why, they created a third program (Sport Prototipi Clienti) for the 499P Modificata: because the car is as different from an XX car as an F1 car in F1 Clienti is.

I expect (and hope) that the next XX car will be a continuation of the XX philosophy, otherwise most clients will not be having fun.

i shook down my 499P M Monday. I anticipated many challenges like you laid out above. I did not experience any of them. It is a far easier to drive car than I anticipated.

I will qualify that only by stating I also drive the 2000 F1, Huayra R, and Solus GT.

Well, then your experience is consistent with what I said: if you already drive a Formula 1 car and the Solus GT (pretty much a prototype car), then you are already dealing with all of the things I mentioned. In that case, you shouldn't have any issues driving the 499P Modificata. My comment was about going from an XX car to a prototype car.
