Finally someone points this , I was trying to udnerstand the issue, and as soon as I saw the video posted earlier explaining what is the problem I saw as you that removing the u bols should solve the issue as would allow the tube to SLIDE! when heat expansion occurs, hence no stress would be added. This is a similar principle used in bridges where slabs many times rely on metal rods or elastic pads to accomodate dimensional changes.

May be it could jump a bit, may be the U bolt could be left with something like gearing rings attached so still holds the pipe but allows sliding, or whatever other similar solution that lefts the braket sustaining the weight but still allows for expansion.

Wonder if that would allow stock headers to be left and solve the issue. The header prices have risen to a comical level.

Further, now that header prices have gon nuts, wonder if theese parts could created with 3d metal printing. The heat in service could very well be a challenge for theese parts...

EDIT2 ( I posted earlier the intake manifold but turns out they also did a header!)

    EDIT:
    I guess should be possible

Does this apply to 360s as well as 430s?

Mostly F430 Has header issues, but it's good to regularly inspect the 360 headers to be sure. Tubi is the way to go, but sadly the price of tubi headers has gone up significantly. Easy DIY replacement if you have access to a lift.

On the 360, I believe the danger is with the pre-CATs. If correct, can one detect a problem using visual inspection?

You can only really tell for cracking is a ticking sound upon cold start, but visual inspection for cracked headers is possible purple discoloration around the pipe bend. The internal pre-cats are hard to tell unless you removed them, but that I would only do if you plan to change the headers.

The 360 had an issue with the pre-cats breaking apart. The manifolds also melted, just like the 355 did. Manifold failures take a bit more time to show on the 360, but they will fail without a doubt.

Get a quote from Scuderia Car Parts. They were the cheapest when I was shopping.

I got mine from Ferrparts in Cali so I would call to see. Scuderia car parts is also excellent and they are in England. Smaller independent performance places across the US are going to be more.
