    Hello all. Just got a TDC crank sensor my '82 308 from AW Italain Parts. Part #119052. The plug end is different than what's on my car. Maybe the parts bin at Ferrari was random back then? Wondering if anyone else has cut and sodered the old plug on a new sensor (I wouldn't know which is + or - though) Wondering if anyone has advice on how to move forward with the swap. Also, would a greasy and dirty end on these or worn wires cause bad ignition on the bank that it's on? This end was very dirty Also, as the second picture shows, the wires were both exposed and pretty close together. have backfiring from unburnt fuel on this bank. I tested injectors, changed plugs, and swaped digiplexes and coils with no fix. I have new wires, plug Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login extenders and this sensor to try. I realize that is two questions now, but as always, help is greatly appreciated.

    The cars were still in production when they first changed plug design. Been cutting and soldering for a lot of years.

    I just replaced one on a n 81 308 unfortunately I had to cut and splice the new terminal to adapt the original, works great.

    Hey Mike, when I cut the new wires is it obvious which is positive and ground, or are the wire inside other random colors?

    With all due respect, you are incorrect. My '85 QV came with EV1 connectors. Below is a shot of one of the originals with one of the new ones I bought. Obviously the one with the white cord is the original. And before you ask, I know it's ordinal because I bought the car new in '85. The only difference is a slight difference in the hole spacing on the sensor mount.

    Frankly, when I needed to replace one a couple of years ago I read on Chat that the connectors were different and I expected to have to cut and splice. I was pleasantly surprised to find it wasn't necessary.

    But as you can see in the picture I attached- Mine ARE different. So my situation is not the same as yous. That is why I asked for advice.

    Origional to your car. What about 80-82 308s and Mondials that used the same sensors with different plugs? Or the early 4 valve that had yet a different part number.
