I'm a building contractor, gimme $10 and I'll talk to you.
I sell real estate, gimme $10 and I'll talk to you.
Cigars on sale! Gimme $10 to look.
Wine on sale! gimme $10 to look.
Fuller Brush! Gimme $10 and I'll show you my wares.
McDonald's! Only $10 to look at the menu/handle the sample fries.
This place sickens me, it only represents the worst that western culture has to offer, and cheapens Ferrari.
Gotta show ownership to get in free? Give me a break. That's not selling cars, that's selling elitism, and f#@k that.
Is this place an 'attraction'? Or is it a car dealership?

The ten dollars is to cut down the riff-raff that flows through. I really don't think it's was planned as a source of revenue.

And yes, it is an attraction

I tend to agree. The LV hotel/casinos attract a large number of knuckle-draggers. The Ferrari/Maserati showrooms risk a lot of grubbifying, if not outright damage to their expensive cars if mobs of the Great Unwashed (who are realistically not customers) cascade through them.

IMHO it was a mistake to put the dealership inside the hotel/resort to begin with. The $10 is a belated attempt to apply a band-aid. My guess is that sooner or later, as soon as they can digest all of the money spent on the fancy facilities, the dealership will move off-resort.

yeah, I'd agree this is in bad taste, and reflects generally on Ferrari owners very poorly as if we're a group of snobs.
I was happy to read the post that claimed that they're no longer charging admission, but now just limiting the number allowed inside at once. The admission price is not the worst I've ever heard though- check this out:
Once when I was in Sydney, Austailia for business, I visited the Sydney dealership just to have a look around. When I approached the front door, it was LOCKED. A sales man on the other side of the door, spoke through the intercom, "do you intend to do business?". I said "sure", thinking the whole time, you are an arrogent bastard. When he "buzzed" me in, he then asked "yes sir, which model are you interested in?". I advised him that I was a long time ferrari owner, swinging through town on business and wanted to just stop by to have a "look-see" at the local dealership. Then he replied, "oh, so you're not here to do business". He then smugly turned his back on me and jsut walked away. What an a$$.

I've heard it said that "bad publicity is better than no publicity".

There must be at least a half dozen threads on FChat commenting on the admission charge. While a number of people have supported it (to one degree or another), I think it is safe to say that the majority have been negative.

But I think it is also safe to say that more has been posted here about the Vegas dealership than any other in the past year or so.

Therefore, if the "bad publicity" theory is correct, maybe the Penske-Wynn people are on the right track.

But the only people that "have" to buy from them are people in the region that are trying to get a new car. I wonder what their allocation is, my guess is that it will not cover the overhead.

Two red Enzo's in there last week; the one up top was Mr. Penske's (not for sale, but labeled $1.2million), and one more with Arizona plates (I think they were) in the underground lot.

Hope they choke on the money. I met the manager of this place while in Europe and they have rich guys backing. If people are dumb enough to pay to get in then let them. I think it's a bad deal for the F cars and people who own them. We look like a bunch of money grubbers.

I was just there on Monday did not pay the $10.00 BS my way in , looked around went downstairs did the whole thing . If you never saw a ferrari in your life OK but no way would I pay $10.00 1 ENZO 1 430 SPIDER 1 430 COUPE the rest were 355,TR,348, 328 ect all great cars but if I want to look at cars just go to CC pay nothing and have lunch on SAT , and get treated with respect. If they want to charge to get in do to the high volume of people like they said they should donate the money for a good cause, then I would pay even $50.00 and would not mind. Well thats just my thought.

Wow! That is an excellent idea! Why not donate the admission charges to a worthy cause? I imagine people would have no problem at all giving their $10 if they knew it was going to the hurricane victims, Red Cross, local food pantry or family violence center, etc. If it's used as a crowd control function rather than a true source of income then I'm sure it'd raise people's opinions of them a notch or two. Like Exotics of CP there in Vegas, their rent/bills are probably supported more by the gift shop rather than admissions or cars sales... at least that was the initial plan. Personally, I think Lambo of Vegas has the better idea: Plant it off the beaten path and those that want to find you... will. Not that I wouldn't hope for the best for all our fellow dealers in the desert, and maybe it's the best plan of action they could come up with considering their given location and the crowds no other dealers must contend with. I guess if you don't like it, you don't have to go. It's not like they've got stuff you can't see anywhere else. (Well, I don't know where else to find an $85 cup of pencils, so maybe I'm wrong...)

I would rather pay $10 than pay nothing and being insulted by a rude salesman who think that I was there only for looking and not buying... Actually, I do that.... whenever I go to a big city in other countries, I was looking forward to visit a Ferrari dealership. And, I did visit... I would feel more comfortable and pay $10 and knowing that I can take my time, instead of getting those looks from the sales staff..............

Interesting that a bunch of Ferrari owners haven't realized admission was free for owners. I just gave them my serial number. But the funny thing was a couple coming in behind me asked the lady why I was let in free............she said he's an owner...........the man said, THAT guy own's a Ferrari!!!!!! That kind hurt.
