For Sale 1974 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS - 16,800 miles

Crikey ... lovely example, but one would be afraid to take it out of the climate controlled plastic bubble!

 

Whoever buys this car should contact me afterwards as I have many pictures of this car prior to restoration as I sold it to the current owner who commissioned the restoration. It also has some unique history as it was supposedly purchased by King Hussein of Jordan and given to Jacqueline Kimberly as an appreciation of her hospitality when he would stay with the Kimberly's while visiting them in Palm Beach.

 

I am happy to see that during the restoration they kept the Palm Beach Polo Club sticker on the windshield!

this 1974 Dino 246 GTS. Delivered new in March 1974 by Chinetti-Garthwaite Imports to Palm

Beach, chassis #07916 was presented as a personal gift from King Hussein of Jordan to

socialite Jacqueline Kimberly, wife of industrialist Jim Kimberly of the Kimberly-Clark

dynasty.

Its Palm Beach heritage remains literally etched in glass, with the original windshield still

displaying vintage Palm Beach Polo Club decals—a tangible link to its storied past.

Restoration Without Compromise

Between 2018 and completion, this Dino underwent a no-expense-spared, bare-tub

restoration by Velox Motorsport of West Palm Beach, widely regarded for their award-

winning Ferrari and Porsche concours work. Every aspect of the car was restored to exact factory

specifications, earning Ferrari Classiche Red Book Certification with “zero miles” at

completion.

specs. New mouse-hair dash, Klippan inertia reel seatbelts with factory tags, rebuilt

crystal-glass gauges, correct Becker Mexico cassette radio with power antenna.

• Original Components: Complete factory toolkit, A complete set of books featured in the

correct Dino etched pouch, including Ferrari USA handbook, warranty and radio cards as

well as the Agip wiping rag.

• Hardware & Finishes: All original “Lobo” hardware re-treated/re-plated, correct Cavis

hoses, correct period Ferrari hose clamps, rare USA-spec Westinghouse sealed beam

headlights (plus New set of Carello sealed beams as delivered).

• Chassis Integrity: Body #2888 stampings verified throughout panels and hinges.

• Engine & Transmission: Overhauled 2,418cc DOHC V-6 with triple Weber 40 DCNF

carburetors, 175 bhp at 7,800 rpm, matched to a 5-speed manual transaxle.

flywheel, and slave cylinder, correct USA sealed headers, muffler and full emissions air

pump.

• Suspension & Brakes: Fully rebuilt independent wishbone suspension, calipers, lines,

• Electricals: Rebuilt wiring harness, fans, wiper motor, and window motors.

• Rolling Stock: Correctly refinished Cromodora wheels with Michelin XWX tires and

proper valve stems.
