    Hello,

I have a 2006 Ferrari F430 Spider and the soft top stopped working. Took it to a independent local shop in Palm Springs, CA who says the cylinders are good but one of the hydraulic lines is leaking causing the top to malfunction. I am thinking all the lines should be replaced while its apart but they seem kind of stuck and want to just replace the ONE leaking line for $2K.

After doing some research I am seeing companies that replace all of the lines and seem to have a system for these failing tops like J Scuderia Auto out of NJ who has a complete soft top hydraulic line package for $1699 plus tax. (https://jscuderiautomotive.com/convertible-top-repair/)

Am I missing something or is $2K to replace only one of the lines expensive for what it is?

I am just not familiar with what it should cost and don't want to overpay for one line when someone on the west coast might have a turn key package around the same money to replace them all so I am not in the same spot with one new line and the rest old ones.

Any thoughts or recommendations where I should take it in Southern California for a soft top line replacement / top fix like the one J Scuderia offers on the east coast?

    Any input is appreciated.

Do not replace one line for $2k unless it is the most unreachable line there is. Even then. I can only imagine they’re buying from Ferrari and charging hours of labor to remove half the top.

I would absolutely send off all the lines to be rebuilt though. There are a few shops that most use:

    https://cabriolethydraulics.com/

Fair warning though, to replace all of them is quite a job but a buy once cry once type of deal.

Thank you, do you know any reputable independent shops in the Southern California / AZ area that would be recommended to have this done?

Which line is it? Some are easy to do but others are a pita to change.

Do yourself a favor changing everything. Sooner or later another component will start to fail and you will start another battle.

I love Randy at RMT in Yorba Linda. I have a coupe so don't have experience with spider issues using him, but he is a great indy for Ferraris. He should be able to give you an estimate over the phone. He will also take outside parts and do just the labor himself.
