So my indy mechanic (factory trained, very good) is quoting me $3500 total for a brake job on my 2008 F430 with CCMs, using OEM pads. I knew the *rotors* would be insanely expensive (thankfully I don’t need to replace those) but $3500 for a brake pad job seems eye-wateringly insane to me. Is that just what it is?

Are you using on a track- as the brakes will outlast the car normally. £1700 in the uk for a full set of pads.

On a 430 the caliper pistons tend to corrode- my front wheel was dragging and the caliper pistons needed replaced. It may be the pads are not releasing fully and that is why the pads are wearing. If the pistons are stuck they take some getting out.

Look at numbers 6 and 7 for CCM pads only. Around $2750 just for the pads, so $3599 sounds pretty reasonable.
