The comments hating on the 296 just come from ignorance. The car demolishes a 458/488. Not close. They were great cars for their day. But not comparatively against a 296.

I really think there are people on this chat who don't own or have ever owned a 296. Also probably never driven a 296, because if you have it is dynamically one of the best cars available. I don't drive mine back to back with my 458 Speciale, because they are just not in the same league. The 458 is an epic car but just can't hold a candle to the 296 driving experience.

Of course there are. This isn't a thread for owners discussing the handling of the car, its a market value thread. The market value isn't just determined by owners, its also determined by people who might buy it but aren't for various reasons. How well the car drives is important, but its only one factor in what the market value of the car is. Ferrari could make that more important by making it easier for prospective buyers to drive the car. But its still going to be just one factor.
How many they make, the economy, the perceptions around the hybrid (right or wrong) are all huge drivers on the price. Like it or not, alot of Ferrari's don't get driven very much and even those that are, most owners didn't buy the car because it drives slighty better than a 458/F8/Mclaren/Lambo.

Another fchat member whose previous posts are all about his 458 and trying to talk it above the 488 and cars made after it.

it’s getting to the point with me where I will go to a car meet and typecast all 458 owner based on the extremely poor behavior of some of them who either can’t afford a newer car or have other personality disorders. Now do you want to get typecast as a loser if you pull up in a 458 ? Of course you don’t. Stop trolling other chats and enjoy your car, please.

There was a time and a place when dime store punks like you would need a pair of binoculars to see a Ferrari, much less own one.
I miss those days. Tesla is partly to blame, but so is Ferrari. And McLaren. But mostly European emission regulations.
Enjoy your baby momma awkwardly designed hybrid V6 hybrid abomination. Given the vast numbers of 296 for sale with delivery mileage, I would say your love affair with the 296 is a distinctly rare occurrence.

I sure am enjoying mine. It doesn't sound like you have logged any seat time in a 296. I would encourage you to do so. I am a die hard 458 guy and had all the reservations you do but when I actually got seat time I grew to appreciate the 296. My favorite is driving it back to back with the 458. You can really see each cars personality. The market will adjust on the 296 so now is the perfect time to buy!

A lot of projection coming through this post. Don’t you have something better to do like moan about someone with an aftermarket exhaust? The common theme with your posts is negativity. On the bright side, this was progress because it actually had multiple sentences instead of just “no”.

The 296 is a great car with outstanding performance there's no doubt about that but the 488 Pista is also a phenomenal car and has the most beautiful design of any Ferrari in the last 10 years. Both are great cars in different ways. The 488 Pista is more for collectors and enthusiasts, while the 296 is more for people looking for a car with the best performance. 296 Prices will stabilize at the latest when the 296 Speciale hits the market. Because for $350K, you can't get anything better, and the new Porsche Turbo S also has a hybrid battery and, with a good spec, costs even more than a used 296.

Just ended today, 24 GTB $380K sticker sold for $320K at BaT.
    https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2024-ferrari-296-gtb-11/

That's only about 16% off which is little bit low on the discount than what I expected from a non Ferrari dealer. Maybe like others are saying, even new Turbo S is asking for north of $300K now so nicely equipped 296 at mid/low $300K is a bargain.

Ahhh. There were a few Giallo 3S cars sitting in inventory for a good long while across the country, looks like all sold finally.

FSF had a Giallo Libano GTS for a while as well, might be worth asking them if that car is still around - if you are open to other shades of metallic yellow.
