Are you landing in Rome or Milan? If Milan, then you might want to check out the Bertone Collection at Volandia Air Museum which is on the edge of Malpensa airport. They have a heap of one-offs and prototypes like the 308 Rainbow, the Bertone Runabout, cars that don't exist anywhere else in the world. The Volandia air museum itself is also quite good.

Flying into Milan and will definitely have to check out Bertone. I think MV Agusta are nearby and probably worth seeing as well. My last visit I only had an opportunity to see the Alfa Romeo Museum when it had just opened.
