Quick question on the fuel lines on a 246 GT. I am having trouble finding the correct replacement fuel hoses, 6 mm return hose and the 8 mm incoming hose. Can you still get the cloth wrapped incoming 8mm fuel hose anywhere? I am also looking for the clear carburetor, crossover hoses. Again, thank you for any help you can give me!

Find a local VW Bug retail outlet for the correct original braid hoses

High probability they are inferior hoses and melt away when in contact with E10 fuel. You may be luckier in the USA but i have tested countless samples in the UK and they all rot away.

Do a search on "coheline" fuel hose on this forum. This fabric braided hose is not compatible with modern gasoline formulations.

There are some photos in previous posts made on this subject showing just how quiickly the hose breaks down. No1 goal for me is "fuel line safety" and to hell with originality.

Fitting the wrong spec hoses, especially the cheap S H 1 tango from the far east is alarming.

Gates Barricade fuel hose is all I use now. I would just swap out braided hose for a show where you were trying to win an award and then swap back.
