Replacing Vasseur with Horner sounds better every day. If only it were true. Hamilton earns his back marker status the old fashioned way...he works for it. I give both Ferrari drivers one more year in the sport. After that, like over ripe fruit, no one will want to buy them, even at a discount. The whole sport seems like it is sinking into the setting sun. Even the ESPN coverage was worse than normal. Martin Brudle filling the screen while he pontificates to an empty track, while a little tiny box shows a picture of a car going fast somewhere else. And whoever the director was, called the shots as if they'd never been to the track before. Rain tomorrow will make all the work today totally useless...as well as for Sunday.
So a the national weather service of Sao Paulo has issued a cyclone warning for the remainder of the evening and into tomorrow with heavy wind gusts in the area.
Any word on if Lewis is getting a penalty for once again ignoring yellow flags? I only saw one replay so maybe the yellow flags weren't thrown at the time he passed Leclerc, so technically maybe he was in the clear. It seems like half the races Lewis has some infraction in the weekend that he always escapes penalty. If it actually rains as hard as they expect, I doubt they will even race. Anything but a damp track and they dont race on it.
Nothing on Hamilton....at the moment. I'm getting "breaking news" notices on the weather at Sao Paulo for tonight and tomorrow morning.
@SS454 Reprimand for Lewis Hamilton following the investigation into his conduct during the sprint qualifying under double yellow flag conditions. Once again, Ioverno patches it up. Image Unavailable, Please Login
With most of the top teams approx 1/3rd sec slower than last year QS and SF 0.6 secs slower it looks like the higher downforce setup is a good reason for poor sprint grid position. It may prove a good move in poor conditions!
It should have been given at least half a dozen penalties this season. Driving towards a crowd of people at 160 mph and it got swept under the rug.
