I've recently purchased a front emblem from a Dutch marketplace and I am not sure if it is a genuine Ferrari part. The seller says it is.

It measures 58 mm in height and 32 mm in width. It has the 1981 - 1994 design with two threaded studs (M3,5) which are not in line with each other. There is a dotted texture on the back. There are no numbers or other marks present. It came with a loose rubber backing. Black one one side, green on the other (it is no double sided tape, as I've tried to peal off the green "protective film", which is not). See pictures for more details.

I especially have my concerns about the dotted texture on the back. I've never seen this before, also not via google image search. I don't want to confront the seller as yet as he might be thinking he sold the real deal in good faith...

Could somebody please confirm if it is a genuine Ferrari part?

Looks like a legit older hood emblem, with some nice patina.

The bolt pattern might fit 81-95 cars but by the font (the round “e” as opposed to the later more squared-off “e”) I’m guessing that badge is from the 50s or 60s. Happy to be corrected, though, I’m no hood badge expert.

Did you buy it for a specific model?

@audi_328 Thanks! I've found exact the same emblem on Catawiki with all of the same design features (also the back). It says it is from 1990.
