    I'm in the early stages of planning a motorcycle trip - planning on leaving Crosslake, MN, and heading towards Ashville, NC. Leave around Labor Day and spending 2+ weeks touring Kentucky & Tennessee. Any must do roads, places to stay, etc ... ?

    Yeah that's the famous one - SCantera has mentioned there are better roads around there - hoping he chimes in.

    Nope, but I've heard about it for years from friends with motorcycles and cars that have driven on it. It's on my "one of these days" lists.

    There are so many great routes around the Smoky Mountains. You must hit the Tail, then from Deals Gap you can go south towards Robbinsville on 129 or I like to go east on 28 to 74 to get to Asheville. Stop at Killboy at Deals Gap for shirts and stickers. You can also go see Wheels Through Time. Really cool place. I'm not into motorcycles, but that place was very impressive. Such a great area for roads and now I live near it all. Enjoy!
