I'm no Max fan but can't deny his driving skill. He sure puts on a show when he needs to. Already up to 6th.

 

Penalties should take into account the severity of the outcome....today they dont. Imagine if a gun discharge would incuur a $10k penalty....regardless of whether or not the bullet killed someone. Thats what F1 is today. Whether LC is removed from race or just pushed into a spin...the penalty is the same. This is criminal imho

I'm really surprised they gave Piastri the penalty. I looked at it as it happened and was swearing at Piastri. Then I watched all 3 in-car cameras, and it looks like kimi's fault to me. Piastri was there, Antonelli did not give him a car width and turned in. I think Piastri would have made the turn, but he locked up because Kimi took the space away and he had nowhere to go.

Hamilton threw his race away taking his wing off on what should have been a simple pass. Car is a turtle now. Just retire it and start packing. What a disaster.

Ok, I rewatch it again. I think the reason they gave Piastri the penalty is that he locked up. However, I don't think Antonelli left enough room for him anyway, so this is a weird one. Even if Piastri hadn't locked up, they would have likely collided IMO because of Kimi's line. There was also room to the outside because Charles was smart and did not squeeze Kimi. There was more room for Piastri to go all the way over the curb, but there is a decent chance that would have launched him right into Kimi anyway. I don't think they ever take that curb, so who knows. Kimi basically takes the same line as Norris...but there is a car on his inside. I still think it is Kimi's fault.
