Redneck is indeed correct. My 99 360 had hoses that looked identical to those post by the OP. Like redneck states these hose are disintegrating. The only permanent fix is to replace the hoses.
Thank you! I looked around the front of the car and couldn’t pin down where the “oil” was coming from. Just that greasy brownish fluid that definitely does not have a fuel smell. Well I’m relieved. I have to get around to replacing the fuel pumps for good measure and will replace the fuel lines also. Maybe the new set will last another 25 years or 32k before they begin to disintegrate again. Thanks for the reply, appreciate it! Joe
Just FYI, those hoses are available and cheap. Unless you have an early spider with a solid capote tub, replacement is easy also. If I remember correctly, the OEM hoses are about $175 each.
Thanks Erik, I will be trying to source them this week since I couldn’t stand to watch my car burn for a set of inexpensive hoses - I’ve had it for 8 or so years and will be keeping it for as long as possible. Appreciate the heads up on price.
Well just FYI for anyone about to change their 360 fuel lines. I just paid about $500 for both. Part numbers I ordered were 182640 and 182641 for RH and LH, respectively.
