Hi everyone, I have a 2005 360 spider and I have an issue. My passenger side fuel tank has a leak. It is a very minor leak right at the very bottom at the edge of the factory weld. Unknown to me before I bought the car someone had tried to repair it with a patch. It is in a very accessible location fortunately. I have tried a couple epoxy patch methods that are specifically designed for fuel tanks with no luck. Has anyone removed there fuel tank before? Im assuming the convertible top assembly would have to be removed? All the repair products that I have used said you can apply right over the leak but have only lasted a couple months. My next step is to drain the complete tank and try a fuel tank repair epoxy with a dry tank. The leak is so minor (leaves a dime size spot on the floor max with the undertray off and does not leave a spot on the floor with the tray on) Obviously I want it fixed as it is a fire hazard. Any suggestions on a tried and true repair epoxy? I know the correct way is to remove the tank and have it repaired properly but if I can find a semi permanent fix until either the convertible top fails or the roll over valves need replacing.

I think JB Weld makes a fuel tank repair. For best results you’ll need to have it dry and rough up the surface.
