Okay I apologize in advance for perhaps a dumb question. But I am new to the car and am having the dreaded hot start problem. So I want to check the fuel pressure to verify that we are loosing pressure almost immediately after shut down.

I do have a good pressure tester that many years ago was used on a 74 911.

Here is the question. I understand the tester is to be connected between the center pipe on the distributor and to the WUR. My WUR has 2 connections and I assume the one that gets the pressure tester is the one that has the tube that goes to the center connection on the distributor.

I have read Carl Rose excellent writeup but photos of the connections are confusing to me. When the pressured tester is connected, is the original connection from the distributor to the WUR eliminated, replaced by the tester? Or is it retained somehow in parallel with the tester which doesn't seem right?

Here are my photos with arrows pointing to where I assumed the connection should be made.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I think after more research I understand how to connect the tester and how Carl Rose did it.

Looks like he disconnected the line at the WUR and to that connection, one side of the tester was connected. The other side on the tester, the side with the valve was then connected to the WUR. So its all in series and it now makes sense to me.

It took awhile for me to get that from his writeup and from his photos.

So I hope to have answered my own question.

    Thanks

    Jeff
