Fantastic! I'd love to see some more images, especially of the fresh engine bay.

The Ferrari factory restored 365 GTS #12163 with custom bodywork/without the bonnet/hood vents?

Ferrari will do anything if you pay for it. Including adding additional/hidden ventilation if you prefer a smooth hood.

I have not heard of this previously. May I ask where is the additional hidden ventilation for it to have the smooth hood? Is it Ferrari Red Book Classiche Certified with the additional hidden ventilation and without the hood/bonnet vents?

Which year did you attend the concorso?

The stickers on windshield confirms that the car passed scrutineering for judging in its class, but I failed to find it on entrants list in previous years.

Something about this thread, and the "factory" restoration does not add up. Way too many errors in the engine bay alone, along with the missing hood vents.

Reminds me of the nice GTC in Naples FL that had both the 330 side vents and the 365 hood vents. It was up for auction but failed to sell.

Technically only the motor was done at Ferrari/Maranello [the original engine was damaged] and the rest done stateside.

    The above is not true.

So the car was not "factory restored" at all, as you stated in the title of this thread. If this really is chassis #12163, from reading previous auction descriptions, it is only with a Ferrari Classiche supplied replacement tipo 245 engine, and has been further restored incorrectly without the bonnet/hood vents.

In my opinion, the picture in post #1 was heavily modified.
    1. The watermark suggests that this picture comes from a specific website (ultimate***page(dot)com) where only a handful of pictures of the 365 GTS are available. Among them there are several photos of the 365 GTS #12243 from 2011 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este.
    2. Look at the stickers on the windshield — their positions are identical in both pictures, which is another reason to believe that the car in the picture is in fact #12243. Moreover, no other example of the 365 GTS has been recently entered for the Concours.
    3. The bench in the background was edited out and replaced with bricks covered with some kind of mold.

On top of that, there is also a lack of hood vents, as mentioned earlier.

In addition to the inconsistencies noted above, the photos have a Gemini AI watermark in the lower right corner (looks like a transparent white diamond). At the very least these images were "retouched" by AI, more likely entirely generated from a very small set of training data including the original photo posted above.

The barrier to creating high quality, completely falsified images is lower than ever. The unfortunate thing is that it is now much faster for a fraud to create such an image than it is for a knowledgeable historian to refute it. While our interest and industry may be niche relative to the rest of humanity, we won't escape the flood of AI generated image slop- it's just too easy to make and there are too many reasons for unscrupulous or thoughtless people to make it. For serious historians, restorers and other vintage car professionals, having access to trusted pre-2023 stores of image references will become more and more important as junk like this becomes commonplace.

So OP, why are you doing this?
