...And I counted three cars that crossed the finish lane IN REVERSE today
Larson wins his second championship after Hamlin & the 11 team chokes again this championship format sucks.
That was an incredible, and unlikely, finish The idea of pitting with 2 laps to go while leading is insane. Hamlin would have won easily if he stayed out, or took 2 Hendrick gambled-again- and wins by 3 positions over Hamlin who dominated the race Can't say I'm sad that Larson won and Hamlin lost
such a stupid decision to give up the lead on a g/w/c I’m more a Larson fan than a Hamlin fan but I do feel for Denny, he’s lost so many of these opportunities and his dad is terminally ill, would have been a good story for the family.

Uhm hmmm... About that I thought. Thanks. Interesting, think I may have caught all of 20 minutes worth of NASCAR this year. The announcing is so bad it's unwatchable. The never ending hype takes a lot of air out of the events which can never live up to the promotion. They need a reset. BHW
I just saw a cool interview about one of the NASCAR pro online drivers. Looks like there before 2020 and going into the pandemic it was really big with some sim pros and some real drivers, sponsored teams, decent payouts. I haven't heard anything about it. They were serious often testing setups 5+ hours for each race. Much of an online pro series now on iRacing? I think Coca-Cola was the prime sponsor and name of the top series.
Iracing does the Coca Cola series. it's been around for a long time, had it's moment in the sun during covid, but still going. $500k total prize money. https://www.iracing.com/enascar/ F1 and Indy have various esports leagues/teams but honestly I pay no attention to it.
in the mid-00's NASCAR decided to build their business on chaos and they're seeing the consequences now-endless unfulfilled hype, and races that don't mean anything due to stages and g/w/c and championships that don't mean anything due to one race "playoffs". the natural outcome of chasing the perpetually short attention span of casual fans. F1 is making that mistake now.
