    From what I have read there were four BB512's prepared to race at Le Mans. They did not fare too well. Does anyone have pictures of these cars? Or can point me in the right direction to read more about them?


    Are they still in existence?

    Hi, Vincent!

    I'm not an expert on these cars (at all), but after a quick look in my index, I found a 5-page article in Classic & Sportscar, June 1989, that has lots of information and pictures. That was 15 years ago, so I don't know about current status.

    The #85 pictured is one of the four -- 512 BBs converted for racing in 1978 and which preceded the 512 BB/LM in 1979. The four cars were:

    22715 -- the Belgian car pictured
    24127 -- Charles Pozzi
    24129 -- Charles Pozzi
    24131 -- NART (this is the car with Medlin)

    My car is up at CC and I saw what I believe is one of these cars. It is definitely a racing Boxer of some sort.
