Am I alone in thinking that after the achingly pretty ferraris such as 288, 308, and 355 that the 360 is rather ugly.

Was considering a change but just cant get myself to buy that!!

Even if one looks at the spider (what a wonderful design the 355 spider was- even if its roof cold be better) but the 360 its all BOOT and an ugly front end- whats happened to the lovely Ferrari designs???

I certainly agree. Although I acknowledge a pretty side profile, the looks like a squashed frog from the front, never got used to the air intakes and the nasty headlights. All tastes are in nature, and we are certainly entitled to ours, aren't we ? Don't like much the Enzo either, and all these rumours that the replacement of the 360 is an Enzo-ized 360 entices me to expect the worst ...

You're probably not alone, but you ARE wrong.

Just kidding, anyone is entitled to their opinion. I believe the 360 is one of the most beautiful cars on the road today. You don't agree, I can live with that. The way the 360 is selling, I think you are in the minority.

Gary, I don't think that you can necessarily say because the 360 is selling that people think it's more beautiful than the 360. Many people just want to have the new thing. And many more bought the 360 because all they ever wanted was a Ferrari that coudl carry their golf clubs.

BTW, I feel that the 360 is a car without much of the character of the 355, and in the end that's what made my decision for he 355 over the 360. I'm not saying that I will never get a 360 but just that the 360 has yet to do it for me in either styling or character.

One of the incidences that sealed it for me was when I left the dealer, seriously contemplating a 360 and one passed me going the other way. Now seeing a Ferrari on the road really puts the styling in perspective. It's hard to judge how a car will look when it's only surrounded by similar exotica. When I saw that 360, I knew that I really owed it to myself to check out the 355, which IMHO, is one of the most beautiful Ferraris ever made.

I've always thought the 360 was sort of "not very attractive" as well.

I just didn't want to start a thread war.

I was just at the dealer last week. I saw many many 360's and they just don't do anything for me. They're sort of big and plain.

I don't have a 360. But even if the 360 and 355 had the same price tag (for the sake of argument), I wouldn't buy the 360. No doubt the 360 is a better performer than the 355 but its looks has ruined it.

The 360 may be selling well and it may be beautiful in many people's eyes. But IMHO, the lines of 355 is unmatched.

I totally agree with Sherpa23 on this. The 355 is one of the most beautiful cars ever made by Ferrari, and 360 is not on the list.

I like them both! I don't think the 360 is ugly in any respect
but the 355 set such a benchmark in looks that many expected
it's replacement to be the "be all to end all". Technologically
it's far Superior to the 355, Aesthetically it's not. I'll own both
someday but a 355 Spider is what I'll get next year which I don't
think I'll ever sell. When the 360's get down where the current
market is on the 355 then I'll have one parked next to it…

I agree too that the F355 looks way better than a 360. The 360 is certainly NOT an ugly car but there is something missing IMO.
I even would go a step further by saying; if a F355 was more expensive than a Modena, I'ld still go for the F355 if you just consider the design of both cars! Especially in case of the Spider!
But it's all a matter of personal taste I guess?

    360 is classy

    355 is sexy

My only problem with the 360 is that the chicks don't see it as a Ferrari unless you tell them. It blends in to traffic too well.

My only problem with the 355 is the top on the spider with its 16 motors and a seat that squashes you. I wonder if a simple 348 top can be fittted without all those gizmos?

The 360 is not ugly in anyway.

The emergency switch that overides the system can be wired directly into the normal swtich. Just make sure the seats are forward enough to clear the roof or....dogh!!!

    Agree 100%!

Never mind the front what about the back. I can sit and stare at the ass end of a 308/328, 288 or 355 all day. What was Ferrari think when they designed the part that comes down around the exhaust tips?

People keep buying them and Ferrari will keep selling them. Sad really.

I too feel that the 355 is a much better looking car than the 360. However, the 360 has been growing on me a little lately...and I wouldn't say that it is ugly. It is just not as pretty as the 355.

Don't even get me started on the Enzo and the decline of Ferrari designs...

In some colours the 360 doesn't look too bad. Silver or black with shields spring to mind.

Doesn't do it for me in red though, and that's a crime in a Ferrari :)

The rear of the 355 has to be one of the best automotive angles ever!

I have a great fear that the styling cues of the Enzo will take prominence on the 360 replacement. Thanksfully Aston are just starting to come on song again with their styling and machines in general.

Funny thing about criticisms of the 360 styling. Go to the old F-Chat board back in 2001 and it's hard to find anyone, except us owners, who liked the styling. Some of the remarks back then were pretty vicious.

Nice pic, Chaz . It's difficult to get a perspective of difference in size from the pic, but the 360 "feels " a much bigger car to me than the 355 when you're in it.....
    Is your car Barchetta Rosso?

Oh yes tony i do agree the 360 is a bigger car and the boot seems higher. The inside is also bigger but the pedels seem closer together.IMO the wider front looks more menacing than the 355, but the 355 has it on profile. I am so glad that i dont have to make the choice of buying one or the other now becourse i chose the 355......BUT i drive the 360 spider when ever i want it, so the choice is 355 spider, 328 gts,360 spider and a Lambo Diablo (both the last two not mine). Please understand how hard the choice is for me.....HA! HA!
