The development has progressed without "the painter of light's" name attached to it. Apparently for some reason, buyers weren't going for the extra $$$ (some absurd amount) that the homes were costing with his name in the mix.
Kind of funny, if you ask me, that Kinkade is trying to sell a "lifestyle" that is nothing more than a house incorporating extra detail and historic elements, something not found in the taupe "McMansions" of today littering my area and yours.

I really don't understand all the rage about his work (I can replicate his work fairly easily, but admire his business savvy. (although I'd prefer a Picasso store at my mall than a Kinkade one)

    Regards....

I'm no art guru, but as far as I'm concerned, any artist who markets his stuff as a FUGGIN' MALL has little to no value in my book.

But again, that's just me, and I'm really nothing but a stinky turd, so take my opinion as you will.

I personally don't care for his work. Too cheesy.

If you want to see true "painters of light", look up Frederick Church, Thomas Cole or any number of great painters from the Hudson River School.

100 years from now, Thomas Kinkade will be long forgotten...IHMO.

I agree; he's my all-time favorite artist, along with Thomas Cole.

Sorry, I don't have any specific links. Do a Google search for "Frederick E. Church". Also, search for his painting "Icebergs"-it's my favorite.
