Over a year ago I registered at the Ferrari owners site after which I found that it was impossible to actually use it because of the poor design. Now I just tried to register again because of the good things that I have heard about Ferrari UK. No luck as soon as I get to the user name password at the end and have enterd the information it refuses to except it and just puts the screen up againwith the user name and password blank.

I suspect that they lose a lot of business because of the incompetence of their website designer.

Agreed, it is a bit of a bear to get registered on their site. If you email them, they will (eventually) get back to you and straighten it out. Patience.... :)

BTW, if you are trying to use the previous username, that may be the conflict. You may need to use a new name. Or have them look up the password for the old username.

Also, remember that the Owner's Site is run by Ferrari SPA, not Ferrari UK...but I also agree, the Owner's Site runs VERY slow.

I have never experienced ANY problems with the site. In fact I use it a lot to browse the spare parts section of Ferrari UK. The problem might be with your computer, you might need to adjust your security settings to log in to a secure site.(But I'm no computer expert...)
I disagree with your judgement that the site is poorly designed!

It may be your browser, the Ferrari website is also the slowest site I have ever been to, are you giving it enough time to log in?

Is it this site https://www.owners.ferrari.com or this one http://www.ferrariownersclub.co.uk ? The first one is the 'factory' site, the second the one run by the UK Ferrari Owners' Club. Ferrari UK is the official UK importers web site http://www.ferrari.co.uk

From the description, it sounds as though you're talking about the factory site. If it keeps reloading the login page, it usually means you've entered your details incorrectly or that the site doesn't recognise them.

    Russ,

I registered 2 years ago and never had a problem logging in until last week when what you described happened to me too. I was finally able to log in yesterday. It might have been a temporary glitch with their website.

When I originally registered, there was some difficulty and I received an email from the owners' site offering their assistance.

Try logging in with your original user name and password, or re-register. As Dave mentioned, you can always email them for assistance at:

I've tried to register at least 3 or 4 times and finally gave up. Never had this problem with anyother site and don't understand WHY you need to register. Why don't they just let you on the site and look through the parts bin. Sounds like another programmer trick when it's not necessary.

I repeat. The site is poorly designed or run. Just spent another 15 minutes trying to register. After entering a lot of silly information more than once I entered the user name, password etc. and it just keeps bouncing me back to those two entries showing them blank. If that website was setup for my organization and it performed as it does and has in the past I would fire the website administrator. The idea is to make it easy for people to do business with you. That website makes it impossible.

Agreed, the site has had glitches and some have occurred recently (due to what I've seen that they've switched servers, or system programs for their email service. Mine was down for a week, but now its back up and running). When it does run though, I enjoy looking through it, they always have neat stuff on there, so I think its worth it.

Always keep in mind, this is FERRARI you're dealing with... Be patient!

I had the good fortune to meet Joanne Marshall on a trip to Maranello in January. She used to photograph Ferraris for the likes of Forza magazine but is now the content manager for the owners' website (i.e. www.owners.ferrari.com). I understand that there are only three of them working on the site and they work 14 hour days, so please give them a break! If you e-mail them with any problems I'm sure they'll sort it out for you. I do find the site a bit slow, but then Joanne told me they are up to the best part of 20,000 registered users and with a continuing growth.

Incidentally, Steve King asked why you need to regsiter and, of course, the answer is because Ferrari want information about there customers for all sorts of marketing reasons. In relation to the parts list, Ferrari UK have the franchise to sell parts worldwide for all cars over ten years old. Their on-line parts list is, however, hosted in conjunction with the factory owners' site - hence you need to log in to that site to access it.

I too have given up on trying to log on...i registered many months ago...and now it simply wont let me log in. Why do you have to have a user name and a password just to look at merchandise that you might want to buy? I think the system is archaic and needs revamping.
Ferrari UK should be interested in getting people in as quickly as possible so they can spend time shopping their extensive inventory.

I know that Ferrari-UK follows this site closely and frequently participates. I am surprised that this thread lacks a response from them to my concern and some others that have been raised as well. To say that they are up to 20,000 registered users seems high to me since I would guess that the total production of all Ferraris does notmuch exceed that number.

Ferrari supposedly produced their 100,000th car during last year (the car went to di Montezemolo). I am doing some work in my spare time on a register of members maintained by the UK Ferrari Owners Club and that contains close to 20,000 Ferraris, the vast majority of which have been owned by members of the UK Club (not all of whom are actually in the UK, in case you're wondering). Ferrari currently produce a little over 4,000 production cars annually.

    Hi all.

Guess I had better offer my 2 new pence' worth, although most of the boys here have got it 100% right about how the Ferrari Owner's Site operates with regards registration and so on.

    To recap...

We have been given the rights to market and sell parts for all vehicles that the Factory classify as having been out of production for at least ten years.

With that agreement came most of their stock holding for these cars. Also the stipulation that we should create an online parts catalog within the Owners' Site.

The whole concept of the Owners' Site is that it is for owners of F cars only and as well as offering parts for sale, also gives 'special' information, entertainment and other offers purely for owners.

This part has been built by, and is run by the Factory is Italy.

We (Ferrari UK) have designed the architecture of and have built the Classic Parts pages with online stock checks etc etc, and this is maintained by us.

And this is the reason there are 'hoops' through which to jump to get to the parts element. Please, please, please register so you can buy parts on line !

It's about as simple as buying from Amazon except our prices are $$$$ cheaper than most USA-based specialists (so we are told by our many happy customers!) and we ship Fedex next day at about 50% normal Fedex prices. And yes, next day !

If anyone is having registration problems please forward all your details to us and we will register for you.

    More info here: http://www.ferrari.co.uk/parts/

    Cheers !

    Ferrari UK,

Works great for me. What scares me is the day i fly to the UK and get a chance to walk through the parts bins.

Like a kid in a candy store :)
