    Hi all,
I'm finally getting around to seriously hunting for my first 308, and was hoping I might be able to get some insight into what to look for as far as mtc history etc in the cars. Without a specific car in mind, I'm looking for a '77 GTB. Basically are there any real 'gotchas' to look for, aside from the obvious stuff, ie timing belts etc? What are the typical mtc intervals for the valves, and carb adjustment? Also, is it a realistic everyday car for the summer. I'm personally not into a garage showpieces, so for arguments sake is 6,000 mi /10,000km a summer, is that asking too much.

Thanks in advance for the advice

A/C blows cold on mine, when it's on the car. Easier to get the water pump off when it's not.

Check for rust or repair, 'cause they all have a little. Even Letterman admitted to it!

PM if you have any specific ????? I'm not an expert, I just drive one!
I'm looking at another as well. There's some good ones out there.

Maintenance intervals are in the Owner's manual.

BTW '77 is the last year to be DOT Non Catalyst. Keep your life simple! :)

the noncatalyst, plus fiberglass, are two of my reasons for going after that specific year.

You didn't say Fibreglass originally! Only the first 900 or so 308s are fibreglass, that makes them all '75 or '76 models. Do a search of the old threads, VIN #s are all 19XXX or so. Maybe a few 20XXX

My June 1977 car, #22127 is an early steel car, as all #s after that will be.
Many parts of mine, lower body pcs, as well as floor pan are fibreglass.

There was a clean red/black glass car on ferrari ads.com but it has sold I believe. Good Luck. The glass cars have their own set of problems, but are considered "rare" because of quantity made.

Your "late 70s" title threw me off. Look for a '76!
