The historic demonstration was good this year. The cars included: - Maserati 250F ... driven by Stirling Moss for the demonstration. - 3 or 4 ERAs. - A couple of Bugattis (Type 35s ?, but that would be my guess). - Many MGs. - Lovely Alfa Romeo 1750 Supercharged spyder ... - Many others, ie. Australian specials, etc. Also there was a Lola T70, and a replica '64 250 GTO, and a replica 206S Dino. A F40 and a F40 LM (yes Roland I checked, the brace between the rear struts was straight, so I think it was genuine) a few Lambos, etc. Unfortunately I missed hearing the 250 GTO replica as I was still walking to the stand when it was shown on the big screens ... and all I could hear was the Lola T70 ... owe well that is the closest I have come to a 250GTO sound (I was a lot closer when it was in the historic tent ). Photos coming. Pete
No chassis numbers (good test for Wayne ) but here is an Alfa Romeo 1750 Supercharged (and a 328 BMW in the back ground), ERA and 2 photos of a Maserati 4CTL (front and cockpit):
The business end of a F40 LM and I think a Pagani (both not really historics but for some reason they were hiding in the same tent):
A couple of things, firstly the last photo isn't of a Pagani but a Jaguar XJR-15. The F40 LM's chassis number is 97881 and is the most powerful GTC specification. The Maserati 250 F is a reproduction, albeit a very good one built to exact specifications and using original parts. Lastly, why do you say the Ferrari 206 S Dino is a replica?
My bad on the Jaguar XJR-15, not really up on these supercar thingies. As for the 206S being a replica, there is another post somewhere that discusses the car when it was at Philip Island and that stated it was a David Piper replica. Pete
