I wanted to do one of those 'poll' threads... but I couldn't figure out how to do it. Does anyone know how?

Anyhoo, whats the most popular colour for a 360 coupe? I've seen so many different colours, I'm interested to see what people think.

I think the 360 is one of the few Ferraris that does NOT suit red, and this is borne out by the percentage of non-red 360s out there (compared to the percentage of red F355s)

From the windscreen back, it looks OK in red, but the boat-frontedness just doesn't lend itself to red.. especially as the headlamp surrounds behind the glass is also red.. the front suits darker/metallic colours. (colors)

Dealers tell me Grigio Alloy is very popular, as it TDF.

Of course, people still order them in rosso because it's not called resale-red for nothing.. and usually people want a red one as their first Ferrari..

I think it depends which country you are in too, Giallo Fly seems popular in the States, whereas it's pretty much hated in the UK.

One of the advertisers in Classic and Sportscar have on in a deep red metallic, and it looks fabby, but in the absense of a blancmange pink option, I'd have to go with giallo fly.

Grigio Titanio is my favourite (esp with bordeaux leather). Blu NART looks great too.

I had a red 328, but now have a silver 355. Wasn't my first choice initially, but looked much better than I'd expected 'in the metal'.

It is true that you'll never have trouble selling a red one.

Why, thinking of a new purchase?

I originally wanted Grigio, or silver, but having spoken to several clients with 360's and dealers, the re-sale red was really the only cost effective option. It wasn't until I'd actually seen one in the flesh that I realised what a rich, deep red it is. The web images etc do not do it justice. I was umming & aahhing between the 3 colours, but the 4-5 k less I'd get in px pushed me to red. I still feel you need to break the back up with the rear cahllenge grill with the red. If money wasn't a concern, I would have gone for the classy Grigio.

As an aside, make sure you have actually SEEN the car in person before making a personal judgement on the color. I spent plenty of time pouring over pictures, trying to decide which color fit best ... Titanium, Grigio, Rosso ... all look different in different pictures.

There is NO comparison for seeing a Rosso Corsa 360 in the flesh. Doesn't hold a candle to Titanium, Grigio, Rosso Fiorano, or Giallo, and I've seem 'em all...

Of course, I could be biased...:)

Thereby perpetuating the problem ! There are so many people who don't want a red one, yet feel compelled to get one because they may not be able sell it.. a view probably held by the person you sell it to.. and so on.

My shortlist was either Grigio Alloy or Grigio Titanio, but since I was buying used it wasn't a problem as long as I took the fact it wasn't red into consideration in the price.

Having said that.. there was a red modena next to mine at the dealership and it did look very nice.. a lovely deep colour .. from the rear-three-quarters it was stunning.. It's just that front-end I can't deal with in red.

Something to consider in FAVOUR of red is repainting/spraying.. all 360s get stone chipped and it's going to be far easier getting the front end blown over in red than any metallic.

Because I am a rather crazy poor person, I have always loved them but recently have been around them for about 2 years helping a guy with his website, all the photos are taken by me of cars he has sold and I was getting fed up not having one, one of my excolleagues got one (the titanium one) lent me the keys for a couple of hours one saturday and that was it, I had to have one. So whilst remortgaging I accidentally borrowed enough extra for a 360, oops how did that happen. It was only ever going to be a short term purchase and now it is the time to move on, I really don't need a car, I cycle to work and beginning of summer is clearly a good time to sell, I don't want to sell it and if it doesn't sell then I'll keep it a little longer.
There you go, my life story (well Ferrari ownership life anyway)

So. Do you want to buy it, she's a peach! :D
