any FChatters planning on going? race is 3/20 and starts at 10 a.m.
Will have to pass this year as well. Between work, obligations, pending jury duty , the kids' springbreak, yada yada yada -- it just isn't my year!
Things actually crank up first thing on Wednesday morning March 17 with events going through Saturday, staying with friends in Avon Park. I will be there bright and early on assignments and then at the Gala Ball on Wednesday evening. Back to the track on Thursday which is a long day highlighted by the night practice session. Friday is usually a short day but I'm taken up with meetings and an interview with Jan Magnussen for Danish media and the Hall of Fame induction (Ferrari, Carroll Shelby, Stirling Moss, Mario Andretti, Bobby Rahal, Al Holbert, Bob Holbert and Ford Heacock, Sr.) ceremonies. By showing up Saturday morning, you miss the whole experience. I suggest by all means showing up Wednesday. BHW
Dress for the gala is usually pretty laid back. You see everything from three piece suits to hawaiian shirts, shorts and sandals (you get the idea). The event is hosted by SIRAC (local race volunteers) and there is always an interesting mix of locals mingling with racing big shots. The Hall of Fame induction ceremony is likely sold out, limited to only 140 people at $150.00/ea. and is taking place Friday at noon in the tent behind the Chateau Elan. Call the track for details and ticket availabity. There is a complete schedule of events on the Sebring and IMSA website available in PDF. http://www.sebringraceway.com/schedule.html http://www.imsa.net BHW
Martin, I don't understand. You can't make it or do you want to meet halfway? Gabriel...."wrap up your PA?" whats PA?
Dang I completely forgot about this... I'm off to Epcot with my brother that day to try out the new vomit attraction.. Mission: Space. Barf bags included on the ride! -R
If there is enough interest, I will make arrangements with the Barron/Connor Ferrari 575 GTC team for a tech session for Friday afternoon. Danny Sullivan is one of the drivers for the team and perhaps he may be willing to say hello as well. If we may round up a few Ferraristi, I will speak with the team P.R. people. Those attending may find me working in the paddock, driving a Maserati Spyder parked in media parking. BHW
