DPA 07:39 FERRARI BOSS NAMED NEW HEAD OF ITALY'S BUSINESS GUILD

Rome (dpa) - Ferrari President Luca Cordero di Montezemolo was
Thursday called to head Confindustria, Italy's most powerful business
    guild.
Montezemolo, 56, was the only candidate nominated to head the guild
over the next four years and received the backing of the vast majority
    of the guild's delegates.
He will be formally appointed in May.
A lawyer by training, Montezemolo first joined Ferrari in 1973,
when he became an assistant to the car maker's founder, Enzo Ferrari.
He headed the organizing committee of Italy's 1990 football World
Cup and sat on the board of the Juventus football team before being
asked by Fiat to head its Ferrari and Maserati subsidiaries.
In the run-up to his appointment, he has called for measures aimed
at boosting the competitiveness of Italian businesses and is open to
dialogue with the country's trade unions. dpa nr mga

I'll bet he'll be President of Italy someday. The only unknown is if he wanted it. He's been making tones about being tired of Ferrari for years though, as he already turned them completely around... wants another business challenge.
