    Hello all.

In my quest to locate THE car, I am thinking of checking out a 348 TS offered at this dealership:

    www.snippersgate.co.uk

They are in the Tyne & Wear area, which isn`t so bad a drive out from where I am. The car is said to be a former concours winner, but I guess that anything could have happened to it since that ;-)

Also has 5 previous owners.. I was told that the f car market tends to be "fluid", and that high numbers of keepers aren`t unusual for them. Hmmmm...strong sales talk or valid comment? Well I guess an initial look see will reveal more.

Interesting result on the insurance front today... being >10 years old the car can be covered by a classic policy (Footman James), and this shaved the quote down to less than ONE THIRD of what I had previously been given by other companies less specialised. Excellent news.

    More as/if it happens...

Haven't heard of the dealer. But I wouldn't say 5 owners for a 348 is unusual.

Think they must be trying to break into the F-car market, their advertising for 355's etc., the 348 on their site is advertised twice (old ploy of advertising stock you havent got to make it seem like you've got more stuff)
however a 1990 (14years old) car with 5 owners doesnt sound too bad (thats 1 owner every 2.8 years) as always PPI with a D&B on the company if they seem a bit iffy

Hiya, I viewed the car twice and backed off, purely down to the fact that both times the electrics were poor. Firstly the centre console and air con lights were all flashing and they said it was down to a poor battery and they would fit a new one, and when I viewed it again (a week later) it was exactly the same, also the drivers window was very very very slow and as this was going up it caught the outer edge of the channel.

The alarm system fitted would not lock both doors and it took some pressing of buttons and closing to eventually get the car to lock.

The drivers door when shutting was very very very slightly out of line and caught the door catch as u closed it.

The back screen lamination is going and is beginning to cloud just at the centre at the bottom.

Apart from the above the car drove well and sounded fantastic (had the tubi fitted) but as for the concourse, it actually came second.

Additionally, as they are not a F specialist I was not convinced the servicing would be up to standard. In the end I placed a deposit on a 91 348TS and due to pick up in early April from Kent High Performance Centre.

    Regards, David

    Thanks for the feedback.

David, that`s good to know. Now I think that there were originally 2 348s at this place, and one has sold. The web site is however totally confusing, whether this is deliberate or not.

The one offered has, I`m led to believe, a reg plate of WHN 348... was this the one you looked at? Be intrigued to know - it`ll save the trip out.

    Many thanks,
    Geoff

Yes they did have 2 for sale, and the one for sale now is the WHN 348 car.

Dont let me feedback put you off from going to see the car, these were just my personal feelings, however I was aware prior to embarking on the purchase of a 348 that these are prone to electrical probs and I wasnt happy with the problems I saw with the car.

Its been for sale with them now for about 2 months now. Let me know if you decide to go view and the outcome.
