Ok, plan to produce MANY videos this spring/summer. Received some new software and had at it today. Below is my first (feeble) attempt. Basically opening "credits" and some stills to music.

Full motion video will naturally be in the final production pieces as will both music and ambient sound mixing here on my digital audiovideo workstation. Does the opening look ok or ???

    Steven,

Long time since we last spoke. By the way, the muffler cover worked great! Nice intro...though I'd cut the beginning dog sounds out and go straight to the beat. JMO.

    Take care,

    Jesse

    Hi Jesse,

Glad the cover worked perfectly. Now if i could just find a home for the muffler... Thanks for the critique, was really just a first attempt and wanted to see how it "worked" for others. Will be using different entry audio in final production, yet the entry video will be nearly the same. As i learn more about the software and what artistic capabilities it provides, will adapt accordingly. MANY thanks again for the suggestion and really glad the muffler cover worked out great like i felt it would

Wanna buy a used muffler? :)

    Enjoy the Drive,

    Cool Dudes,

Thanks. Using a few different software and audio software titles. Some are kinda BETA so can't go into full details. Chews up A LOT of CPU power and can only imagine once i get the HD video cam what type of processing power will be required. Was testing a few things including audio quality/saturation and video capabilities. Even at 1400 x 1050 the video compression is not TOO shabby, but still leaves something to be desired IMHO. Naturally some software/compression scheme excel in some things while others are better for other things. Then all your work is at the mercy of the mastering/final compression for web publication.

Am basically getting to know the various software capabilities and limitations... and which ones to use for certain jobs. Am hoping to offer top quality with as few limitations as possible.

    Enjoy the Drive,

    Steven R. Rochlin

PS: the video here is 2.93MB for only 44 seconds, with approximately 23 seconds really being still images. Naturally full motion video will chew up more bandwidth. DVD-Video might be the only real way to go for anything resembling the quality desired. DVD-V will also allow for other features, but for now want to get the basic rudiments correct.

PPS: DrTrax, it is not a f---in game :)

    Texas!
Let us know what you end up with. I spent over $50k about 4 years ago in trying to put together "talking books" for professional education. I used "Toolbook." I'm sure that there is a lot better stuff on the market today. I'd love to pull this stuff off the shelf and do something with it.

    DrTax

ps Anybody want to buy "Toolbook."

    Michael... WOW... thanks :)

No worries, will dump the still for spirited drives :) :) :)

Dr.Tax, the good thing here is money is not the issue, the ability to do as desired and have the software capable of my plans is.

Steven, being in the business, the only bit of advice I can give would be,
Be careful not to violate copywrite laws by resynchronizing copywritten music to your video production.
If you just look at it in the privacy of your own home then have at it,
but once others can view it, like here on the internet,
    you become in violation.
