    Looking at the difference in weight between the Euro 308 and US 308, there is a pretty big gap! Where is all the dead weight comming from on the US 308?

    For starters, the front and rear USA bumpers are heavier due to impact/crash laws, the US version has cat pipes... My apologies, am too tired to remember the other changes. Other Fchat members will surely have more to add :)

    Its not just the bumpers, the sub-structure holding the bumpers is also heavier.

    Depends on the year, but things like bumpers, power windows, Air, Cat converters, Extra frame member.
    76 to early 77 had glass body which was an additional 200 lbs lighter than any other 308.
