For me, the worst "sounding" is one that may have been in perfect running order, yet has been sitting in a museum for 5+ years gathering dust. It is not as Enzo had intended.

    Enjoy the Drive,

    Somebody's got to say it.
While it sounds great when it's warmed up and running well, most K-jet injected 4vs sound like old plumbing when you start them up from cold. Even Car & Driver said this in their review of the car when it was new. I can verify for you that it is a function of the Kjet, as the qvs sound terrific from start-up with carbs.

    What's the worst sounding Ferrari?
    A replica :)
Real Ferrari's never sound bad IMO

Or maybe those that are being brutalised by people who don't have the knowledge and sense of driving a car do? Poor clutch :(

    Greets, Alex.

Hehe. I remember once watching a guy getting into his "Testarossa". The proportions of the Fiero were miles away from the real thing, but anyway. Once he turned that ignition key, even the least informed bystander must have gotten the clue. Brimmmbrimmm, putput.

Not really bad sounding, but different:

288GTO when driven slowly. Has a weird high pitched metallic sound to it like it is some clunky old Honda Civic. Strange.

333SP. Great sound, but when going fast doesn't sound like a race car anymore, more like a fighter jet.

Hmmm, the F360s I have heard have not impressed me. While it is a better sound than many other cars, it is nothing compared to a F355 that is driven around where I work.

I do not know if the F355 has been modified or not, or the same for the F360s but IMO the sound is a backwards step.

Also the F1 cars with the pit lane speed limiter engaged sound horrible ... as they do when they lift off the throttle ... all bangs and pops!@@ :(

Don't blame me, I love the 288 GTO. It was at an event where a real one showed up. It is well maintained by a reputable shop, so what you heard is what they're like I suppose. And it really sounded "cheap" while driving into the parking lot. I remember it well and first thought it was replica (which it wasn't), then I thought it had a problem with its gear box (which it didn't).

Pete, you don't like F1s going off the throttle? I ADORE that sound, when they down shift it is like hand grenades going off at each down shift.

    A 8 never sounds as nice as a 6 or a 12. Just a fact.

A briggs and stratton powered lawn tractor sounds better than a garage queen sitting in the dark.

Well, turbochargers tend to take any and all character out of an exhaust note for most cars. They're sitting right in the middle of the exhaust track, and the turbine wheel just deadens the noise, for lack of a better word. Turbos/wastegates/blow-off valves have their own set of neat, mechanical noises, but, for me, they'll never replace the sound of a high-strung, naturally-aspirated car.

a 360 with a tubi or capristo sounds much better than a 355...whereas a stock 360 sounds a little wimpy
