    Hi folks,

here comes a rare color: verde germoglio
    http://www.barchetta.cc/All.Ferraris/events-stories/events/2003/done/auctions/gstaad-auction-story/

The sale of the Lepeltier collection
Michel Lepeltier’s 308 GTB Vetroresina (s/n 19275) in an extremely rare lime green
colour (”Verde Germoglio”) that had only covered 7.935 kms. from new was the first
car in the sale. Fitted with a non-original exhaust system and some mildew on the
passenger seat, it fetched 45.948,-SFr — almost 34.400,-€ for its German buyer after
the German VAT will have been paid upon the hammer price. A strong result for a 308
GTB Vetroresina that for sure reflects its original mileage and its rare and spectacular
    colour.

I would have bought that car but couldn't QUITE get it all lined up, to bid from US. Also, the dollar was sliding daily.

I have heard since that it was mildew damaged from improper storage, and I'm sure "waking it up" would have represented it's share of heartache.

Still, my daughter liked the color, it would have been hers.

Do you know how it went, after the sale?
I had visions of strapping some K2s to the roof, an setting out on a ski vacation! I could have dropped over for tea.

The previous owner was a good guy it seems, a sad ending!

My sharp-eyed gf noted it was one of the few at Gstaad without a drip blanket underneath.

I told her it was probably drained of fluids, dry! LOL!

34.4K E is about $42K US. They definately got all the money for this one.
    But still worth it, IMO

Give us some follow up, from the new Owner!!!

Your also correct, note the exhaust doesn't match the rear valance.
    A fairly simple fix.

I assume this was a "dry sump" engine though? THAT's where the money is.

Why post this? Were you looking for comment on the color, or......?

This is a dry sump Euro fiberglass car; the most desirable of all the 308's. These cars came with a single tip exhaust which many people changed (as seen in this pic) to the double twin tips. The valence however is cut out for the single tip only. My take on the car is that it is an awful colour and that bringing this car back to spec would be not at all worth what other low mileage fully restored and driven cars go for. They got exceptional money for it.

I agree, based upon the cold assessment of details.

You'd be driving a Ferrari of a man who had DIED for one however.
THAT's good for a discussion among enthusiasts, anytime.

I always say "I'll give the bastar_s the keys to mine, 'cause they'll bring it back as soon as it quits!" LOL!

Mine also has a distinctive paint job, I don't think the thieves would make it out of the city limits!

World's Fastest Art Car, as seen in Cavallino #133.

It doesn't look that bad but its not a good ferrari color. Its more of a Lamborghini color as someone already posted.

The color doesn't appeal to me, but I DO like the display stand the car is sitting on!

I know a friend that has a 914 that color, as well.

It goes with the avacado colored kitchens of the period...
