    I was watching a show that the tivo taped for me about the Virginia City hillclimb, and what should pop up but a 328 GTS that was identified as the "last handbuilt 328 to leave the factory", plus enough extra to identify the location and owners as of 2002.

    I'd been looking for that info. Just for the record, the car was Red :)

    But, weren't all 328's hand built (as compared to something from GM)? and I think just about every last one of them left the factory, crash tests and protos aside. So was this car actually doing the hillclimb?

    Yes, it was doing the hillclimb. The point was that it was the LAST 328 ever built, which is very cool. Now I just need to find the FIRST one built, serial number 58735

    It was "Behind The Wheel" which is a series that shows up on (I believe) the Fine Living channel on DirectTV. I have the Tivo set up to record anything with Ferrari in it, and so it pulled down that show.

    got a serial # on this baby? And, is it a U.S. or Euro car?
    I believe the -last- U.S. 328GTS was a red/tan car sent to
    the San Diego dealer, but can't confirm that.
    Have no idea where in the rest of the world the actual last 328GTx went...

    The serial number wasn't stated in the show. I have the last serial number as 83075, a GTS. The one in the show was red, but I couldn't see the interior.

    I think I've found the telephone number of the owner, do you think it would be too freaky to call and ask? :D

    I've never claimed to be the Official anything. I'm just a nutcase that digs 328s (and Dinos...let's not forget the Dino....)

    there is also a significant 328 red in montreal, claimed to be the last one made, it has no mileage and is brand spanking new! Beautiful. I'll try and get the serial number next time i go down there!

    yes, that is right. They also have a brand new white 328 gts with tan interior, also have a brand new 25th anniversary countach black on white interior.

    My friend's Dad is John Scotti, i go there quite often, they are family friends.

    Maybe the last handbuilt regular production FERRARI. Didn't the 348 start a more assembly line type process?
