How about a little help in making a reasoned decision. Prices are all over the place. For a 6-speed, reasonable prices for '00, '01, '02. Thanks in advance, guys.

In NY Spyders are about 189K Coupes 138K and there are many for sale. Check out the Sunday NY Times. Call Miller, WWOC, Carriage HOUSE fOLI , Bentley of LI and Motor classic. They all have 360's for sale and I see the same ones listed week.

Hmm.... Let's see here, coupes for $138,000. I have been looking for a few months and I can tell you that the only coupes you can get for $138 are most likely 1999's , although I did see a 2000 silver/tan car (bad color combo in my opinion) for $138K.

Mileage, year, options, transmission and condition all make a big difference in determining price.

Here is a quick guide for coupes based on my experience:

    1999: $135-$140
    2000: $140-$150
    2001: $145-$165
    2002: $165-$175
    2003: $170-$195

The ranges are based on condition and transmission (with the F-1 being worth around $5-$7K more). Mileage can also be a big factor. On average the cars have 1,000 to 1,500 miles a year on them.

I bet if you wait until a snowy day in Jan you'll find a 2000 F1 coupe in good condition with low miles in a nice color for 130. Did you check out the one Carriage House Listed in the NYT 2 weeks ago for 138? They seem to be 5k under other dealers. I've never bought a car from them but they've been around for a while. Nick @ Motor Classic has a very nice 02 Spyder F1 Yellow with Black int. and yellow piping 300 miles that's worth looking at. (I know all of these guys but have no affilation)
Instead of listening to their asking prices tell them what you want and what you'll pay. You may be surprized how soon they'll call back.

The wholesale price on a 2000 F-1 with moderate mileage is more than $130K. Trust me when I tell you that most dealers will not take a loss. BTW, the prices I posted are where deals are getting done. The asking prices are definately higher.... I personally, will not buy a car from a dealer that is not an authorized Ferrari dealer. They get the best cars because they typically get back what they sold new as the owners either trade up or into a newer car. These cars are usually one owner cars with full service history. The Ferrari's that non-Ferrari dealers get are the cars that Ferrari dealers do not want to own and then they are either sold directly to other dealers or wholesaled.

Also, you almost couldn't give away a yellow 360 with red interior which is what Carriage House has...

I am interested in the progession of this thread...I have started researching prices for a 360 Spider F1. Looking around passively (I haven't started making calls yet) the best price I will be able to get an '03 for is ~$205k.

If anyone has heard differently, please let me know.

I'll tell you what Allan, you get me a one owner 360 coupe with 5K miles or under that is an F-1 with service history that is not an odd ball color combo for $130K and I will buy it now.

Seeing how you only buy Lambo's, how would you know where the Ferrari market is?

I thought the 355 was for your wife and you would never drive it ( or at least that's what you have said) When was the last time you either bought a Ferrari or looked to buy one.

A good friend of mine is the main buyer for European Auto in Teterboro (largest auto auction point in the U.S.) I have a good feel for wholesale prices based on what he sees.

    And btw, when i wanted to locate a 360, i did. 2 years ago, a 2000 red/black 6 speed, 3ooomiles, $140,000.

3 years ago, 99, same color combo, 6 speed, either 6 or 8,000 miles, 142,000.

    About 6 months ago, a 2000 Red/tan 6 speed, under 10,000 miles, for 125,000.

What does the Ferrari being for my wife have to do with buying it? We bought it about 8 months ago. I get cars offered to me all the time.

All were very good deals. Make sure you add $5-$7K for an equivalent F-1 and deduct at least $1 per mile over 5,000 miles. Most dealers won't touch a car with 10K miles on it. Also, the red/black combo is considered to be undesirable and sells for much less. This I don't get because I think it works well. I would also take a six speed over an F-1 but again, the market dictates that the F-1's are much easier to sell and command higher prices.

We were specificly looking for a red/black car at the time, and those were asking prices. The 2000 was purchased for 136,000, the 99 we skipped, but was purchased by another friend for im not sure how much.

Also at the time, 6 speeds were greatly in demand. Could not find one anywhere. Everyone had F1's and willing to deal.

Prestige motors in Maryland has a 99 yellow six speed for 119. I see spiders in the 180's up to the crack smoking 250's.

Scott63. Did you say a Yellow 360 with RED interior? My GOD,man! There's a yellow 328 with Red/Black interior at a dealer near me. Several of my friends have also seen it. You have to see it to believe it. Ugly as sin! It's been there for over a year...wonder why? They REALLY need to repaint that car. Red,Black,Silver,Gray...anything! But,that ugly Yellow has got to go! Its not even a nice Yellow, kind of leaning toward a Lime green Yellow,or the new "School crossing sign" yellow...with Red/Black interior? NO WAY! IMO,Yellow cars with all Black or Tan interiors look nice, though. But,personally,I'm not into Yellow sportscars at all.(my opinion!)

I have been looking for quite a while and I am with Scott on this one. If its a Euro, or high miles, or a sh!tty color combo you can get a deal on a 360, but thats about it. I would say that Scott's ranges seem a little on the high side. I think a very good 2000 with 5-7K miles, good color combo is around $140. I would guess that as we transition into the new year, lets say Feb 2004, they will come down a little more. They will sound 4 years old then. Wait a few months.

Or buy one with 15k miles. For some reason they are a lot better deal with a few more miles. IMHO a 2000 with 15K miles is not too bad.

Maybe I should not comment on this since I am selling my 01 coupe, but I just can not resist. When I was looking for a car eight months ago I heard all these great prices, alot of post on here about cars well below anything I have seen, but no one could tell me where these cars were. I am sure there are deals out there, but if you are looking for a car without a story, right color combo and low miles, Scotts numbers are pretty on the mark.

    Yes, it is a Euro....

Many seem to have an opinion on prices of 360's and there are lots of statements of super low prices, typically from people who have never really shopped them extensively and certainly have never bought one.

When one actually goes through the whole process of searching for one and buying one that is proper, the prices are much higher than the lowball numbers coming out of some people. The higher prices quoted here by one of the members is much more inline with what I found when I bought mine.

People are quick to point out prices on e-bay without really knowing what the deal is with those cars. Case in point is the guy that said, "Here is a spider that is 180k on e-bay", well that is a Euro conversion and is an entirely different animal than a US-spec car with warranty and can't be used for any comparison. Many sellers are coy about a car being Euro spec in the initial advertising which then leads people to co-mingle those Euro prices into the mix of US 360 prices and use them for comparison incorrectly.

The bottom line is I hear tons of people "talking" about all these low great prices. I have yet to hear of anybody that has "bought" one of these cars at these low prices.
