    Folks,

I need a competent and reasonable mechanic in Austin for my 1988 Mondial 3.2 Cab. It has 35K miles, and had its 30K mile service at 29K miles at Lake Forest Ferrari in Chicago, but it was back in 1998, so I'd like to have the timing belts done again.

Any clues? I once to a 1983 Mondial 8 to Bens Workshop on 5th, and was not impressed. I'd like to avoid going to Houston, Dallas or San Antonio, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Ciao,

    Mike

Try Moorespeed. I've never been there since I service my car in Dallas, but if I was in Austin that's where I'd start.

Yea, try Moorespeed. I'm not sure of the work of Autostrada off Lamar but they do have Ferrari tech's there too. SW's shop, "Elite Motorsports" (off Hancock I think) has a few high end shops located around there. Call him up and see where he takes his Ferrari's. Good Luck.

David Moore at Moorespeed in Austin is way to go. My TR is there now. Great guy, clean shop and he knows what he is doing and has connections to get parts when you need them fast. His shop is near the old Robert Mueller Airport near Airport and Manor Rd. Call him first.

Ditto on Moorespeed. They service my 308 and I won't take it anywhere else.

In case you haven't caught the drift yet, take it to David at MooreSpeed.

I've heard Dana G. uses Moorespeed for her Boxer 512. LOL!

    A trend is developing here.

I think Maranelloman also likes Moorespeed. He told me so.

If The World's Fastest Art Car were to break during the Austin Art Car Parade weekend, April 24, 2004 I think I might call Moorespeed!

Party will be on the roof of Maggie Mae's on 6th St.

From the West Austin News site:

    Friday April 23, 2004 8PM 'till....
    Rooftop of Maggie Mae's
Dress: Anything from body paint to black tie.

The 200,300,400 blocks of E. 6th Street will be blocked off and closed to all vehicles except Art Cars......

What ya'll do is tell 'em YOU'RE the World's Fastest Art Car. By the time they figure out you're not me, we'll be on the third round! Cheers!

The general consensus of Austin Ferrari folk is that David Moore's shop is the way to go. I find that KC Colvin at Colvin Automotive knows his Ferraris extremely well and that's where I take my Mondial.

BTW, if you own a Ferrari in Austin, you may want to check out HCFerrariClub.org.
