    I offered Mario a book to sign, a monograph of the 312PB. In the middle of a PR appearance, it stopped him in his tracks to see it again.... He paused quite a while, then said.."That was the best Ferrari I ever drove...."

    He asked ME what I wanted the signature to say, and I said.."It (was) your car, sir... Whatever YOU'd like...."

    After asking about spelling my name, he carefully wrote..

    "To Alan,....all the BEST.... Mario Andretti"

    I've seen him many times since that first meeting, but that brief moment will always be a special memory. A true gentleman.
