Ok, I got an impossible project handed to me last week and I need some help. Spike TV - http://www.spiketv.com - has asked my production company to produce a special for them, tentatively titled the "52 Favorite Cars". We're gonna be talking with celebs, automotive journalists, and other folks (like Ferrari enthusiasts) for their favorites, pare that down and present those cars. Celeb host, fun music -- I think you see where this is going. Easy project, tight deadline and really, really fun. It's a list of favorites that can change every year and does not have to be made with authority -- just fun cars that people like.

So, what's your favorite car (Ferrari or otherwise, of course), and do you have one that I can put in a studio on 46th street for a day in April? Or even video or pictures of it? ;-)

I'm launching a board and a blog to get this rolling, but I wanted to let y'all know about it first.

So, if you've got any input you've got the ear of the Executive Producer...

PS: Yes, a black F355 will probably be on the list -- or at least on the screen. Got to justify the "business expense" somehow, right?

Sounds like fun. But "52" is a big number. I'll give it some thought -- assume all marques / all years count?!

ANDREW - Good call on the P-Sha 944 CUP!!! My brother has a modded 944 turbo that will run with 'em (And it can beat up on my TR!).

Emil - How about bikes? You've got to at least mention some bikes... And at the top of the list should be the Suzuki Hayabusa. That is a damn fast bike!!

And, of course, the 308 and Testarossa!! Might as well include all Ferraris on my list. They're all gorgeous!!

I agree. The 959 MUST be included. 20 years ahead of its time !! Even by today's standards, what other car can do 198 MPH on street tires one day, then raise its own suspension from the cockpit, and win the Paris Dakar Rally on off-road tires the next day? Only a Porsche !

    Also include :
The F512M--the last, great TR ! Bruce would agree...
    The BB512, Michael would agree...

We live on West 46th street and have a silver 1971 Daytona. A car that should make any 52 car list.

    Hi Emil,

I was refering to the 959. It had (has) cockpit controls for its height-adjustable suspenion, and the damping. It also had cockpit controls for its complex, variable all-wheel drive with multiple software programs (sport, winter etc.) for the multiple electronic differentials. All that was needed to modify for rallying, was a roll-cage, fire system etc., and of course, off-road tires.

Simpler versions of this precoscious Porsche 80's technology trickled down to the 993 Turbo, and the current 996 Turbo.

Another vote for Rijk's Daytona. Slick, classy and pure Ferrari - not to mention the SOUND......I would put that note up against any, and I hope he'll be on the ROE just so I can hear it again.
