Hello my name is Adam, and I am a car-aholic. Just when I think I need to free up some garage space I go out and buy another.... Is there a support group for this kind of problem. I need therapy.

    What do you guys think?

One of the divisions of our company stocks and sells the Beck Spyders. We are the largest dealer in the country for these cars. If anyone is interested in purchasing one - feel free to contact me. They "base" model with a 1925cc engine can be had for around $25,000 and they go up from there. Superb kit cars for a very reasonable price. The Vintage made cars are also a very nice product. Vintage and Beck are the two largest 550 replica manufacturers.

Jordan - is your car a stick or automatic?

I just spent the past 2 days cruising around N.Cal with it. It is a lot of fun to drive, and fast too, 185hp for a very small and light car. Only problem is that I felt like I was too big to be driving such a small vehicle. A lot of fun for not that much money.

Here are some pics of one of the cars we have in stock right now. It has the larger engine 2200cc which dyno'd at 185HP. Even though this is not alot of HP by our standards - the car only weighs 1200 pounds. Acceleration is very impressive - about 5.0 seconds to 60mph.

Since it has the larger engine and a few more options than the base car it is around $29,000. It is brand new. Just completed the pre-delivery inspection today.

That's pretty cool... I'd love to test drive one sometime... could be a fun "zip around town" car to have! Beyond displacement, what kind of engine and drivetrain do these kits come with?

Byron - Its a Pro street transmission from CB Motorsports and a reproduction (new) Type 1 "VW Bug" engine (also manufactured by CB Motorsports). They make alot of the high performance engines for sand rails, etc. It's a copy of Ferdinand Porsche's very first motor!

Hey Jerry. Not sure yet. I am trying to get the detail crew over to our warehouse today. If they cannot make it I will not bring the car as it is dirty. Presentation is the key to sales! I want it to show properly. I would rather wait the week and have it look awesome next weekend. I will know by this afternoon and will post it here.

Not only was the 550 one of James Dean's favorite cars, but he was killed while driving his Lil' Bastard (as he had pained on the car).

I've never had the pleasure of driving a 550 or a replica, for that matter, but I've seen/heard a few running around Zooport and they are just cool as hell.

Very, very small cars that are very, very low to the ground and must be an absolute hoot to drive.

I've been told that the Becks can be built with some more, how should we say, "modern" accoutrement such as disc brakes and a more modern suspension. Is that correct?
