I have seen real cars with that back window but never noticed the 5 gills. Good eye!

Jerry, don't forget the cam belt service at 15k :)

Not trying to rain on your parade, but I'm disappointed to see that even this special Le Mans kit does not have the proper front hood (neither will the hand made car I ordered). It would have been so easy for Bburago to come up with that. Bummer.

Also is that copilot seat really necessary? I would doubt, that a real Le Mans car has a second seat. Just dead weight. I'd leave it off.

Here is a picture of one of the real cars. Shows the different hood and the missing 2nd seat. Also note the white wheels and the different rear wing. You might want to make the rear wing black.

Here is a picture of the Michelotto F40 LM I won on ebay. It was customized by the seller. Beautiful work, yet it too is missing the LM hood. But it might give you a few pointers of things you could change/enhance in your own model:

Thanks for the pic of the real deal - I see what you mean about the hood - Not close! lol

No worries though, this was my first attempt at putting one togehter - wasn't too worried about accuracy.

BTW, I havent tested it yet, but visually the wheels on the hotwheels 333sp look like they will fit a 1:18 F40. Paint them black and they could pass for black speedlines...you can have Rick's car right there :)

It is a kit from Bburago. Very rare.

Blue is the 'correct' color for most of the Le Mans F40.

Yes, I love blue on Ferraris - Probably is because the first one I rode in was a Azzurro 355 - See pic.

What does CLICK or GLEW mean? Is that a brand?

    OK translation time.
What I meant was....how do you put the kit together??? do you use glew, and get sticky fingers and get really pi$$ed off - or to you simple pess the peices together "click, click" without getting sticky fingers and freak out. :)
    (glew.....hope I spelled it right)

    PS:that blue 355 is a true beauty!

    Nice f40!

I saw the same blue 355 at ferrari of beverly hills few years ago. It was sweet! Except this one was a GTS but hey, it was still nice.

Yep, they do fit, although it is somewhat tight...well worth the effort though (if you have a Dremel tool, the conversion is very easy to do). I'm also working on the Blue Lemans F40 kit and I am in the process of modifying those wheels and the F40 spindles.

I wish I had a digital camera so that I could show the results.
