All, As I was searching for my 288GTO, I came across this 1:8 scale 330 P4 (from http://www.lapassione.co.uk). Wanted to share it with you.
WOW...!!! There's a model i'd like to have...! i wonder if the 1:18 versions are that detailed... That looks awesome...!
On the topic of larger scale, unbelievably detailed models, check out this 1:10 '66 GT40 MkII. More pics: http://www.royalediecast.com/exoto-17_GT40_1-10-NO1-pic.htm Also, check out the detail on this 500 TRC http://www.lapassione.co.uk/?pid=conti. Simply unreal! It actually looks like the engine will fire up if you tried it. Apparently Maurizio Conti can build you anything you want - I am envisioning a 1:10 F40 LM! Filing this away for when I win the lotto
They have those large scale GT40's at the hobby shop close to me. There asking $900 CND each for them. They have 2 in stock red and black. Fantastic models. In fact I almost took the plunge on the black one on Sunday!! Lucky for me my gril friend talked some sense into me(well threated me actually) and I left it on the shelf. Kinda glad I did. The detail is outstanding..and your right, they do look like you could jump in and drive away...Yes they are that good. The return spring and the carberator is really a little spring!! Full engine electrics and cooling system plumming! Oh and the electrics are not molded into the plastic. They are seperate harness looms and everything...In fact I think the ignition wires are even install with the correct fireing order!!
...maybe because she's getting it for you for Christmas? These guys are such artists; I am really in awe of their craftsmanship.
