    dear all,

as the owner of an older, less valuble Ferrari (mondial 3.0QV) I thought it would be quiet interesting to find out who everyone else use's to insure their pride'n'joy with.
ive had various quote over the internet recently, from £1500 right down to £195 fully comp (5000mls p.a) on classic car insurance.
how much are others paying?? and who with??, for similar cars , and have any of you had particularlly good (or bad) experiences with them??

it may help us all to get a better deal next time round, or avoid shabby companies.... (do you get what you pay for?)

Believe it or not I've just renewed my Mondial QV's insurance with AON for £167 !!! It's agreed value and unlimited mileage fully comp etc. FOC membership has helped I think.

    The car is 21y old & I am 43.

Before it was 20 the premium was always around £3-400.

My MR2 was £12 more back in Feb and TPFT at that.

    Good deal or what????????

Value agreed is £16k, before it was 20 I had a 1500 mile / year quota which was about right now its unlimited.

Don't let a small premium fool you though, I still spend approx £1500 / year running it.

My Mondial QV is insured through Carol Nash, who also do my P6.

Fully comp, limited mileage of 4500 per year, both my wife and I to drive - I'm 29 and she's 27, both with clean licenses.

Agreed value is £16k - had to provide photos for that.

Costing me £420 per year. When renewal time comes round, I'll hit the big 30 and the Mondial will be ove 20, so I expect a big reduction in that.

(P6 is insured under same terms (agreed value of £5k) and is £120! :)

    Cheers,
    TOM

I'm 38, and my 1981 308GTB (valued at £26000) costs me £350 to insure for 3000 miles per year, with greenflag recovery included. This is with Norton Insurance. I'm palnning to an upgrade to a 328GTB (1988, value £35k), and with the same company, the premium is gonna double. Ouch!

Looks like I'm going to have to shop around for the 328.....

My Mondial t insurance is costing £520 per year. QUite reasonable I thought! 1989 car valued around 21K. Im 29 with a clean licience. Classic car policy through Footman James. Im allowed to park the car on my drive at night, as opposed to garaged, as long as I fit a Cat 1 alarm. Mileage limit of 3000 miles pa, but can be extended with extra £70 per 1000 miles.
