I am looking for some informations about F50 GT. I have heard that Ferrari built 3 F50 GT: s/n 001 : sold to M. Zafiropoulos in San Fransisco (USA). s/n 002 : sold to Yoshikuni Okamoto in Japan. s/n 003 : sold to Jim Spiro (USA) then at a RM Auction in Scottsdale in 2000 for $1,430,000 to an australian collector. Where are now these cars ? And who is this australian collector ? What about the other chassis unbuilt 004,005, ...? Is this true, have been they then completed ? In this thread it would be cool, if everybody share informations and pictures about the F50 GT. Alain
I could't attach them... You can follow these links, but the site will go down after about three people go there, so maybe one of you could try saving the videos and then posting them. Sorry...I'm technically incompetent. http://www.geocities.com/fgtof50gt1/v1.html http://www.geocities.com/fgtof50gt1/v2.html
Hi All !! This is my first time posting, and I thought that a reply to this post would be a good place to start. Not a Ferrari owner (yet...) , but a passionate fan nevertheless. We had a Ferrari Club meeting here in Toronto a few years back, and the F50 GT was on display, and I believe it was the San Francisco car. I took several photos of the car, but I don't have them on a website, so can't post them. I am willing however to email them to anyone who wants to see them, so feel free to email me at : [email protected] Am happy to send them to whoever wants them. (By the way....it is a stunning car, and IMHO "the" car of the meeting.) Cheers all !!! hps
Alain, Do a search on the old board's archives. There is a lot of F50 GT info, pics and stories on there. The person that takes care of the Australian collector's cars (incl. the F50 GT) has posted on FChat about it.
From what I understand (courtesy of a post from the old board) is that Dellara was forced to destroy the 4 and 5 tubs, which sort of puts A.Z. in a pickle with respect to getting a new one. Anyone know how his project is coming along? --Dan
actually if you want a cool video of an F50GT out on a track you should check out http://www.nsxfiles.com/nsxvideo4.htm it's probably on the old board somewhere. but there's a vid of the F50GT being followed in a F355 GTS.
hi everyone, this is also my very first post as well; although i hate to be the bearer of bad news, i was told that one of the 3 f50 GTs was involved in a fairly serious accident at California Speedway in Fontana, CA (earlier this year) while being brought up to operating temp by a professional driver. i have not heard any news about the car or the specific severity of the damage to the car since. can anybody else confirm this information? ernie

ernie: please see this thread (brace yourself) http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/251280/213596.html Dan: I thought someone posted recently that they spoke to Art at some event and he said that the Beast was coming along nicely. Or is that just wishful thinking on my part?
OK....I'll give this a shot...if it works.....many more to come, as my gift to all of you.....if not......email me, and you can have em !! Cheers ! hps Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ok all.. There are 8 of my shots. These were taken at the FCA meeting here in Toronto in June of 1998. I took over 70 shots and some of them are actually kind of nice ! I am more than happy to post them here in Fchat, but tell me where best to put them. (showroom ?) I like to shoot cars, particularly Ferraris, and have an archive of hundreds of pics that I have shot over the years..(not all Ferrari, but lots of them..) I can email high res to anyone if you want, so drop me a line. ([email protected]) I have been surfing the site for about a month , befroe I decided to sign on. I wanted to make sure that my lack of Ferrari , wouldn't be frowned upon, and I thought that if I can't offer my own car for discussion....I can send out my photo collection ! Here are my plans......when I get the chance, I will post a few more shots until I run out....obviously sticking to the Ferrari theme, and they are my gift to all of you. While I was surfing a while back, I though that the pics were one of the best parts....so this is my way of sprucing up the joint !! enjoy em !! hps
Hi there. When the Australian collector (who is not famous or anything, and would prefer to remain so), took delivery of the car in Oz, I did a big service and check over and prepared it to run at Phillip Island, which it did around February 2002. Since then it hasn't fired a shot and sits on display in the Melbourne Ferrari specialist where I run my workshop as an independant company. It can be viewed at any time for free by the public, but I understand negotiations are taking place for it to return to the US perhaps.
